7th Edition of Bangladesh Book Fair Inaugurated in Kolkata



The seventh edition of the Bangladesh Book Fair was inaugurated at Mohor Kunja. The nine day fair is an initiative of Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.

The Kolkata edition of Bangladesh Book Fair began in 2011 and this year there is forty four stalls. Prominent publishers like Kakoli Prakasani, Pratibha Prokash, Atijya, Ananya, Ahmed Publishing House, Anyaprakash, Pratik Prokashon Songstha, Sandesh, Murdhanya, Bangla Prakash and others.


This year the venue of the book fair has shifted to Mohor Kunja from Rabindra Sadan. The fair will run from 2 pm to 8 pm on weekdays but on weekends it will continue till 9 pm.

Books on varied subjects like linguistics, literature, history, science and anthropology and so on will be available at the fair. These books are written by Bangladeshi authors and published by publications in Bangladesh.

The fair will also host a number of cultural events, including programmes highlighting Bangladeshi folk traditions. The cultural programmes will be held at the book fair every evening where artists from both India and Bangladesh will be participating.
