Children’s Day Celebration at Governor’s House in Kolkata



To celebrate the Children’s Day, Lions Club of Kolkata Academia took an initiative to make it memorable for ninety four differently abled children from 5 schools and ‘New Age Society for All’ to the Governor’s House. They paid a visit and interacted with Shri Kesarinath Tripathi, the Governor of West Bengal.

The day started with face painting to magic show and cake cutting to painting competition. The children were given a Jacket made of Khadi, a white topi like of Panditji and a Red Rose. They were then taken for a face painting session, where they were given a facelift with the Tricolour.


Shri Kesarinath Tripathi addressed to the children and their mentor with valuable and inspiring words. The few, who had the skill to draw, participated in a drawing competition and got gifts from Pramod Chandak, the Lions District Governor. Each of the students was gifted with a gift hamper comprising of a school bag, umbrella, wrist watch, sunglass, tiffin box, water bottle, food packet etc.

This initiative is to create awareness amongst the society for the differently abled children.
