Video: Mira Nair at AKLF 2018
Eminent film maker Mira Nair was in Kolkata to attend the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival. She was engaged in a conversation with author Chandrahas Chowdhury. This was the opening session of this literary festival. The session was named Salaam Mira! Three Decades in Cinema.
The entire discussion revolved around the entire body of Mira Nair’s works like Monsoon Wedding, Salaam Bombay, The Namesake, The Queen of Katwe and The Reluctant Fundamentalist.
Mira Nair revealed about her connection to Kolkata and how she used to come back frequently to meet Satyajit Ray when he was alive. She also narrated how she carried a projector with her to Ray’s house to show him her first piece of work.
The conversation had interesting anecdotes and kept the audience thoroughly engaged.
