Soumitra Chatterjee and Aparna Sen Took a Trip Down Memory Lane With A Retrospective



Soumitra Chatterjee and Aparna Sen first got together in Satyajit Ray’s Samapti in 1961. Centrestage presented the Cricket Club of Dhakuria’s annual social  through a trip down memory lane kind of an extravaganza Soumitra and Aparna- A Retrospective in conversation with Anindya Chatterjee at Kala Mandir.

The event featured two celluloid legends of Bengal-Soumitra Chatterjee and Aparna Sen, who teamed up in 23 feature films together. The discussion ranged from their early years to their first foray into films. They also shared great stories and anecdotes shared from their own experience. The legends discussed films, theatre, literature, directors, writers, music directors and many other facets.

To illustrate the discussion, there was screening of relevant film clips as well as some songs to relive the golden past. Songs or mostly parts of songs were sung by Aritra and Dipanwita. The musical arrangement was made by Rocket Mondal in an informal studio environment.
