Video: Condolence Meeting for Supriya Devi
A condolence meeting was organized to honor the memory of late Bengali actress Supriya Devi by Shilpi Sangsad.
Eminent personalities from all walks of life took part in the condolence meeting and shared many memories revolving Supriya Devi or lovingly known as Benu Di.
Some of the eminent dignitaries who graced the occasion include Hon’ble Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, Rituparna Sengupta, Reshmi Mitra, footballer Subrata Bhattacharya, Lolita Chatterjee, Shakuntala Barua and others.
Supriya Devi’s daughter Soma and her son also graced the event.
Speaking at the event, Rituparna Sengupta said “We are gradually losing those people who loved us. That is a sad thing. I hope her soul rests in peace”.
Shakuntala Barua remembered how Supriya Devi cooked for her and brought the food for her on the sets. “I was a newcomer then and the love that she showered was immense” said the actress.
Arindam Ganguly and Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta sang songs at the event in loving memory of the veteran actress.
The packed hall and the speeches of the eminent dignitaries proved that Supriya Devi may have died but her works and memories will live forever.
