Despite so much happening in Indian Cinema, the contribution of Hiralal Sen has not got full recognition. He was the first individual to have made a full length film Alibaba o Challis Chor in 1904.

To make the people aware of the contribution of this great individual, director Francis Roy made a documentary titled Itihase Upekhito Hiralal Sen. With the help of this documentary, the director wanted to make the people aware of his contributions to Bengali as well as Indian cinema.


The documentary was shown at the event where it was unveiled by Sanjay Mukhopadhyay, Soumitra Dastidar, George Baker and Bhargonath Bhattacharya.

Ikbal Manna, Arindam Kar, Raghunath Shau and Apurba Sarkar have acted in different roles in the film. The background music is by Shoma Bhandari.

The screenplay, dialogues and research has been done by Manash Bhandari.
