Four Hours of Bengali Songs on BIG FM on MJ Koushik’s Show on International Mother Tongue Day


rj-koushikOn 21st February, International Mother Tongue Day is celebrated. MJ Koushik who has been mesmerizing the audiences with his early morning show on BIG FM, will be playing four hours live Bengali music on this special day. Usually the slot is divided into two hours of Bengali songs and two hours of retro songs.

But on this special day, four hours will be dedicated to songs by Rabindranath Tagore, Rajankant, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Atulprasad, Folk songs and continuing to the songs by R.D. Burman.

The listeners as usual will be able to interact with the MJ on the show. Special quotes of eminent personalities like Kabir Suman, Jeet Gannguli and others will be played in between the show.

Speaking with Sholoana Bangaliana correspondent, MJ Koushik highlighted on the fact that language is a means of communication. And it is like a river which keeps on flowing and adding new words to it. Many people feel that the Bengali language will be harmed due to the loan words. But that is not the case. Words have always been incorporated in different languages with the change of time. One needs to understand it.

So if you are in the mood to listen to great songs, tune in to BIG FM on 21st February.
