The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat to Organize Poila Boisakh Menu for the Patrons



The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat is all set to celebrate Poila Boisakh in total bangaliana style. This is the first Bengali New Year for The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat, and the hotel is enthusiastically making arrangements to celebrate it in style.

The beautiful rangoli at the entrance and a traditional center appointment with flower decorations and tender coconut shells will greet you, if you are not feeling the vibe already. Rabindra sangeet will be the choice of music throughout the day at the hotel. The team of chefs at Seasonal Tastes – the all-day dining restaurant, will be cooking up a storm in the hneshel, to bring out the best of the Bengali cuisine.


The buffet display at the restaurant has been conceptualized to bring forth the essence of the East and the West, combining the flavors of Opar Bangla (East Bengal, presently Bangladesh) and Epar Bangla (West Bengal). A few of the signature items on the menu will be ‘Smoked Hilsa’, ‘Dab Chingri’, ‘Chittol Maach’, ‘Hilsa Pulao’, ‘Kakra Jhol’, ‘Tel Koi’, ‘Dhonepata Boda’, ‘Dhokar Dalna’, ‘Shukto’, ‘Kosha Mangsho’, ‘Shorshe Maach’, ‘Doi Murgi’, ‘Chhanar Dalna’ amongst other to savor.

This buffet is a must visit for the fish lovers in the city, as there will be assorted varieties of fresh fishes and crustaceans available locally like ‘Bhola Bekti’, ‘Parse’, ‘tilapia’, ‘Bekti’, ‘Scampi’, Lobster’, ‘Topse’, ‘Tangra’, ‘Paturi’, with options of Grill and fried preparations.


This will be featured alongside Bengali preparations of rice and bread like ‘Ghee Bhaat’, ‘Govindobhog Pulao’, ‘Radhabollobhi’, ‘Luchi’, ‘Karaishutir Kachori’ etc. Mughlai specialties of Kolkata like ‘Biryani’, ‘Rezala’, ‘Chaap’ will be a part of the spread and the Kolkata street food live counter will keep you asking for more.

The Poila Baisakh special buffet will present the largest dessert buffet of the town featuring over 50 varieties of traditional and fusion Bengali sweets. ‘Cham Cham’, ‘Shorbhaja’, ‘Mouchak’, ‘Misti Doi’, ‘Langcha’ are just to name a few, to have you salivating already.
