Mir Acts as a Lonely Man in Aritrik Bhattacharya’s Short Film Doha

After his successful career in radio, television, big screen, comedian turned actor Mir Afsar Ali is again ready for his upcoming short film Doha.

Directed by Aritrik Bhattacharya, it is a story about a lone man and his sole friend-his shadow.

Doha the couplet set in today’s time, it’s a story of a recluse man stretched over one day. It delves into the life of a lone man who once had a family but now lives alone — with no one but his shadow for company. Sometimes, he gets into tiffs with his shadow, sometimes converses with it. The interesting short film is in post production stage now. Mir is the only actor in the film — it’s almost like a one-act-play. The idea behind the film is that human beings are, in reality, very lonely. The shadow is the only thing that never parts a person. The entire film was shot for 12 hours at a house in North Kolkata.

The story and direction have been done by Aritrik Bhattacharya. Aritrik has used glimpse of Rabindrasangeet as the background music for Doha. The duration of Doha is 10 minutes and is slated for April release on digital platform.
