The launch of Bitan Chakraborty’s new Bengali Book Chinha by Abdul Kafi, Assistant Professor, Department of Bengali, Jadavpur University and Debapriya Bhattacharyya, former, Head of Bengali Department, Presidency University was held recently. This is the author’s second Bengali book of short stories containing seven stories. His first book Santiram-er Cha was also widely acclaimed and appreciated.
Chinha (Mark) is a collection of seven stories that will enable readers to identify the often ignored signs of the day-to-day Bengali living. The collection will allow us to revisit memories, resulting in a revival of a few existential queries, buried in our hearts for years.
Chakraborty’s other books include Abhinetar Journal (Bengali prose) and Sharanarthi (Bengali prose), which have been appreciated across India in several universities and seminars.
