JW Marriott Kolkata has come up with an eclectic food festival that celebrates the uniqueness, diversity and richness of flavours of Rajasthan. Hosting a 9-day long food fiesta called ‘Taste of Rajasthan’, JW Kitchen will showcase the exquisite Rajasthani cuisine starting 18th May till 27th May 2018 over lunch and dinner.
Extremities of climate and dearth of water and vegetation has led to the creation of a cuisine substantially different from the rest of the country. Food is prepared with the minimal use of water and preserved for longer periods without the need of being reheated for consumption. Highlighting this concept, the menu of the festival has been designed by Chef Bheik Singh, Chef, Jaipur Marriott Hotel, who has learnt the art from the Royal kitchens itself, and has been cooking Rajasthani specialties for the last 22 years.
Signature dishes part of this menu are ‘Laal Maas’, ‘Gatte ki Subzi’, ‘Dal Baati Churma’, ‘Jodhpuri Murgh’, ‘Govind Gatta Curry’, ‘Ker Sangri ki Jugalbandi’, among others. Some popular desserts from the region are Ghevar, Mava Kachori and much more.
Apart from the food, the ambience at the all-day dining restaurant – JW Kitchen will be done up in true Rajasthani style, with special centre pieces and appropriate welcome fare. Additionally, elements of Rajasthani folk culture will be recreated at the property with a Puppet show, Ghodi dance, Chudiwala and Manihar- one each day.
