The trailer and poster launch of director Partha Sarathi Manna’s film Oskar took place in the presence of the director, Aparajita Adhya, Saheb Bhattacharya and others.


The story of the film is set in 1982 in a small village named Achinpur. After the abolition of the Zamindari system, the Panchayat system has now come into existence. Achinpur has a Rajbari. The owners are wealthy but they do not have the Zamindari now. Rudra is the owner of this house and his younger brother Ratul is an aspiring writer. Ratul dreams daily about a warrior coming towards him with a sword in his hand. His grandmother reveals that his father wanted to make a film which will win on Oscar. But he died and his hopes were not fulfilled. Will his sons be able to fulfil it?

The music of the film is by Loy-Deep and the cinematography is by Kunal R Khatoi.


Speaking about her character, Aparajita Adhya said “The woman is a revengeful character. She has been deprived much. She is neither a positive nor a negative character. She has been wronged against and it is due to this reason she has become revengeful”.


“A period drama made in Bengali film is happening after a long time. The film is set in the 1980’s and we shot continuously for 30 days to complete the film. It was exhausting but I enjoyed every bit. I got to share screen with Apa di (Aparajita Adhya) which was a huge experience for me” said Saheb.


Priyanshu Chatterjee, Saheb Bhattacharya, Aparajita Addy, Kharaj Mukherjee and Debolina Paul will be seen in pivotal roles.

The film is eyeing for release in July.
