Dig Into Balinese Delicacies at Balinese Food Festival at Hyatt Regency Kolkata

“The Pride and Glory of Bali-Yatra” View from Indonesia in association with the Embassy of Indonesia presents “Balinese Food Festival” at Hyatt Regency Kolkata till 11th June.

Bali is not only a scenic island in Indonesia but it also has similarity in culture and food to India. The similarity of culture and food has led the Embassy of Indonesia to organize this food fiesta to showcase the culture and cuisine of the country.

A dance performance was organized by Balinese dancers which captivated the assembled audience on the day of the inauguration of the food festival.

Some of the dishes on offer at the Balinese food festival include Urab (mixed blanched vegetables with coconut sambal), Tabia sere (Fried chilli and shrimp paste), Jukut kalas (Blanched long beans with coconut, garlic and turmeric), Sambal embe (Fried shallot, garlic and chilli mixed with shrimp paste), Sate lilit (Minced seabass skewered in lemongrass skewers), Ayam betutu (Double cooked roasted chicken slowly braised with basa wayah).

For dessert one can try the Kolak (traditional Indonesian dessert containing sweet potato, banana and jackfruit).

The special food menu will be available at the Waterside Cafe of Hyatt Regency.
