Video: Short Film Festival Short Cut to Oskar Announced

A short film competition titled Short-Cut to Oskar was announced by the team of the upcoming Bengali film Oskar. Present at the announcement was Ashok Vishwanathan, director of Oskar Partha Sarathi Manna, Aparajita Adhya, Shaheb Bhattacharya and others. The event also saw the trailer launch of the film Oskar.


The short film festival is organised in association with SRFTI (Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute).

The aim of the competition is to find out two talented film makers and give them a scope to make a name for themselves. A two month weekend full time foundation course at SRFTI in Digital Film Making free of cost will be the award for the budding film makers.

One will have to make a short film on the theme of Dream within 2-15 minutes duration. Applicants should be amateur film makers. The last date of film submission is 20th July. “This is a great initiative. Many people are interested in making a film. They even have a good script. But they are not aware of the nuances of the art of film making. With the help of this contest, the people will get the chance to showcase their talent and also learn more about the art of digital film making.” Said Shaheb Bhattacharya.
