Shomu Mitra Productions organized a press meet to announce short films Pick Pocket and Chor. Present at the spot were director Shomu Mitra, Joy Sengupta, Amitabha Bhattacharya, Jack and others.

Speaking in between shots, Joy Sengupta said “I play Sadhak, a thief in the film, Chor. Why does a person become a thief? Does a thief have a conscience? These are some of the questions raised in the short film. This is a known unit for me as I have worked with them in quite a few feature films. Shomu is my friend and hence we all understand each other very well. Hence I am working with great enthusiasm in this film. One of the benefits of working in a short film is you can do things creatively which often gets hindered when working in a feature film where one has to also take care of the commercial aspects too”.

The actor is busy with three plays, a couple of Bengali films and two web-series and also a Hindi film. The actor also has worked in an abstract film.

Amitabha Bhattacharya will be seen in the role of a police officer in Chor. “I play a police officer named K. Banerjee in the film. The script is by Sandeep Nath. The story mainly focuses on the fact that humanity is not dead yet. This is a short film and has an interesting touch. I won’t reveal much about the interesting aspect as that will not be good for the film” said the actor.

Some of the other actors who will be seen in the films are Sonali Chowdhury, Papiya Adhikari, Biplab Dasgupta, Joyjeet Mukherjee and others.

The shooting of the films is currently in progress in different parts of Kolkata.
