Srijit Mukherji’s Film Chowringhee’s Name Changed to Shahjahan Regency



Srijit Mukherji’s film Chowringhee’s name has been changed now to Shahjahan Regency. The film is based on eminent Bengali author Shankar’s novel Chowringhee. A film has already been made many years ago on this novel. Srijit Mukherji will be showcasing the novel in modern perspective.

Not only has the name of the film but there has been changes in the cast of the film as well. Prosenjit Chatterjee was slated to play Satta Bose but the actor withdrew his name as he felt that his age will not suit the character’s age. Jisshu Sengupta due to date to date and health problems has also exited the project.

Joya Ahsan has also left the project and now in her place Swastika Mukherjee will be acting in her place.


Parambrata and Abir will be seen handling the reception of Shahjahan hotel.

Parambrata Chatterjee, Anjan Dutt, Mamata Shankar, Rituparna Sengupta, Rudranil Ghosh, Babul Supriyo, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, Abir Chatterjee, Anirban Bhatatcharya will be seen in the film.
