Oral Hygiene Week Organized in Kolkata; Aim to Increase Awareness About Oral Hygiene

Oral Hygiene Week was celebrated this year from 25th July to 1st August 2018. 1st August, has been declared to Oral Hygiene day-2018. In India people suffer from many oral diseases due to lack of awareness on oral health. It is also a fact that oral cancer is one of the most common cancers in India. On this day, there is a growing mass awareness on oral hygiene with the theme of smart mouth since smart oral health is the first step of general health too.

Many institutions of various states of India and Dr. Bholanath Chakravarty integrated Medical treatment & research centre (BCIMTRC) have participated to celebrate the day for mass awareness on oral hygiene. Children are the future of the country. Keeping this in mind, a free Oral Hygiene Screening camp for school children has been organized at the centre in collaboration with Guru Nanak Institution of Dental science & research. The camp has been headed by DR. Raju Biswas, Hony. State General Secretary & CC Member, Indian Dental Association and team.  Almost hundred children of three schools of Howrah Municipal Corporation have participated in the camp. It is also noted that BCIMTRC has a complete Dental department and advanced treatment has been also done on prior appointment.
