Hilsa or Ilish has always remained the pride of a Bengali’s palate. To celebrate the monsoon, Social Kitchen has come up with exotic Hilsa preparations from Bangladesh and has come up with the Opar Banglar Ilish Festival.
The ala carte menu will include Ilish Barishali (traditional Hilsa dish from Barishal region cooked with mustard, poppy seed and fresh coconut), Ilish Macher Korma (a cultural melange of Hilsa preparation rich in Moghlai spices), Madhupuri Ilish Paturi (speciality Hilsa dish from the Madhupur region of Bangladesh), Ilisher Matha Kochu Loti Diye (Hilsa mishmash of colocasia stolons with fish heads), Goalondo Ilish Tel Jhal (Boatman style Hilsa curry with aubergine tempered with onion seed), Ilish Lajar Tok (Hilsa with tamarind chutney), Ilish Padma Jamuna (Hilsa preparation from both Kushtia & Kishoreganj district in a dual gravy of mustard and fresh coriander yoghurt) and Lau Patai IIish Bhaja Paturi (bottle gourd wrapped Hilsa fried in mustard oil).
Special Attraction: All Hilsa preparations will be served with a bowl of Steamed Basmati Rice and Sona Moong Dal.
