Biggest National Flag Measuring 12150 Square Feet Unveiled in Kolkata



To mark the occasion of 71st Independence Day of India, the eve of 15th August 2018 witnessed the most unique initiative ‘Teen Rang Humaare’. The evening saw the unfurling of the biggest national flag making it an iconic moment in the history of Independence Day celebration in the city of Kolkata.

Present on the occasion were Lt. Gen. Sunil Srivastava, VSM Chief of Staff, HQ, Eastern Command, Maj. General. R Nagraj, AVSM, MGGS,HQ Eastern Command, Lt. Col. Gautam Nandy (Retd.), Deputy CEO, Tollygunge Club, Mr. Nitin Singh, Regional Director, North & East Radio Mirchi and RJ Mir along with other important dignitaries.

The Biggest National Flag standing at 12150 square feet is a distinctive symbol of pride and emotion for the nation.

As part of the initiative ‘Teen Rang Humaare’, a Coffee Table Book capturing the sentiments and heartfelt wishes from people across Kolkata was unveiled. The memorabilia with best 10,000 messages would be presented as a tribute to the Indian Army, at a later date.

On 15th August 1947, the momentous occasion of Indian Independence was declared through the popular broadcast medium‘Radio’. After 71st year, yet again a Radio channel, Mirchi 98.3 came up with the innovative campaign Teen Rang Humaare. The campaign reached out across the city to engage with around 150, 000 people to record their gratitude.The week -long initiative saw participation of students from different schools and colleges and also from corporate houses.
