On occasion of Baishe Srabon, Indo Occidental Symbiosis organized a performance of “Pancha Putra Pancha Kanya” in Kolkata.
The idea was to bring out the thoughts and feelings of the youth towards Tagore and establish the fact that even on his 77th Death Anniversary he is still relatable to the millennial. Hence instead of presenting great doyens, talented artistes of the young generation fulfilled the demand of this concept.
The Panchakanyas who performed on 10th August included- Shreya Guhathakurta, Sudeshna Chatterjee, Iman Chakroborty, Rohini Ray Chaudhuri and Madhurima Dutta Chowdhury while Panchaputras who performed on 11th August, were- Shaheb Chatterjee, Shovan Ganguly, Durnibar Saha, Rupankar Bagchi and Subhankar Bhaskar.
The narrators for Panchakanyas were Anindya Chatterjee (Chandrabindu) and Tanmoy Bose while Bidipta Chakroborty & Rema Bose did the same for Panchaputras. Music direction was under the great expertise of Pulak Sarkar.
Some of the songs performed were Bhalobesehe Sokhi, Ki Ragini, Emon Dine, Mor Bhabonare, Sedin Dujone, Tumi Kon Kanoner and many others.
The show was held at Kala Mandir from 6:30 PM onwards.
