First Look Launch of Bengali Film Nupur; A Mute Love Story Inspired by the Love of Radha-Krishna

After his debut film “Not A Dirty Film”, director Ranadeep Sarker is coming back which his second film “Nupur”. The first look launch of the film took place recently in the presence of the cast and crew of the film. Mumtaz Sorcar who had worked with Ranadeep in his first film also graced the occasion.


The film is set in the backdrop of the 1970’s -at Purulia. The story shows the journey of two individuals namely Nupur and Bangsi who were born mute. Inspired by the timeless love story of Radha & Krishna, “Nupur” has a similar essence of passion and love, through a poetical and musical backdrop.


Speaking about his film, the director said “Today complex films are made. But the fact that films can be simple too will be brought forward with this film. The biggest challenge of the film was to showcase the love story with no dialogues. We have used poetry to help us with the narration. Mahua di helped us a lot with the poetry part. Since I did not need star actors for this film, I have selected one or two veteran actors and the rest are from theatre background”.


Jammy who plays the villainous character Raghu in the film mentioned that the team have worked very hard to make this film. He urged the audience to go to the hall to watch the film so as to make it a huge success.


Tanushree as Nupur, Suvajit Kar as Bangshi, Jammy Banerjee as Raghu, Biswajit Chakraboty, Debika Mukherjee, Saibal Bhattacharya, Lucky Baruya will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.


The story and concept is by Jitendra Kumar Nahar. The music is by Pancham Dew.


The film is eyeing for release on 21st September.
