Theme of Hatibagan Nabin Pally and Jagat Mukherjee Park Unveiled

Renowned sculptor Subal Paul will be designing unique themes for two reputed North Kolkata Durga Pujas namely Hatibagan Nabin Pally and Ward No 1 Sadharn Durgotsav o Pradarshani also known as Jagat Mukherjee Park.

The theme of Hatibagan Nabin Pally was unveiled recently and the event was attended by Pilu Bhattacharjee, Tejas Gandhi, Subal Paul, Atin Ghosh and others.

The theme is Tobu Mone Rekho. Reading habits and going to the library for reading is taking a backseat in recent times. People have become more addicted to reading things on their laptops and mobiles. Keeping this in mind, the artist has come up with this theme to stress on the importance of reading books. This is what will be highlighted in their pandal this year.

The theme note has been written by singer-director Anindya Chattopadhyay and Jagannath Basu and Urmimala Basu will recite this theme note.

Jagat Mukherjee Park’s theme was unveiled by Gopinath Ghosh, Tejas Gandhi, Pilu Bhattacharjee, Partha Paul and others.

The theme this year is Time Machine which will take one to time travel in 2218. The pandal will show human life in the year 2218. How the life of man will change in that year will be shown!! Whether man will become less active or whether robots will take over man or whether Durga Puja will be celebrated even then- all will be shown.

The idol of Ma Durga will be traditional and devoid of any modern touches.

Ma Durga will be wearing ornaments made from silver and diamond. This will be made by Senco Gold and Diamonds. The sari which will be designed by Tejas Gandhi will be given by Priya Gopal Bishoyi.

Jagat Mukherjee Park’s pandal will be open for the viewers a day after Mahalaya.
