The shooting of the upcoming Bengali film Chere Jas Na was in progress at Shovabazar nat Mandir (Kolkata). Present on the sets were Firdous, Laboni Sarkar, Rupsa, Barun Chandra, Lily Chakrborty and others.
The film Chere Jas Na is about Pratap Mukherjee who is a retired Army Colonel. The film begins with the preparation for the Durga Puja at Mukhejee Villa. The Puja is in its 150th year. Chandrima, the widowed daughter-in-law is the mother of Rajani and Sinjini. She plans to expand the family business. Meanwhile Sinjini falls in love with Mansur, a Muslim by religion. What happens next? Is their love accepted by the society?
Director Tapan Saha said “Today we are shooting a Durga Puja sequence here at Shovabazar Nat Mandir. The USP of the film is that I have told a simple tale and this is neither a remake nor a copy of any film. There is action, elements of romance, humor in the film and the audience will like it”
The music of the film has been composed by Abhijit Acharya and the screenplay of the film has been written by Sumitro Banerjee. The choreography of the film has been done by Kailash Sharma. In between shots, Kailash Sharma said “I have worked with Firdous before in his first film and it is a great privilege to work again with him. A romantic song has been shot in Chalsa and today we are doing a Durga Puja song. The song is very melodious and the people will surely like it”.
Firdous will be seen playing a Bangladeshi man in the film. “I am quite excited because this is the first time I am getting to play such a role. I have been giving some inputs to the director as well about the role to make it credible enough for the audiences. The production house is also very generous as we have been going to the same place for outdoor shoots quite a few times. And they have been supporting us very much”.
Debesh Roy Chowdhury, Rajesh Sharma, Debika Mitra, Apurba Roy will be seen in important roles in this film.
The shooting of the film will be done in places like Chalsa, Garubathan, Samsing, Tribeni, Taiganj and other places.
The film is aiming for a release during the coming Durga Pujas.
