Video: Interview of Story Writer Sanjib Banerji on Mandobasar Galpo
For story writer Sanjib Banerji, Manbobasa is just the opposite side of Bhalobasa. Sholoana Bangaliana caught up with the ace writer who is behind the story of director Tathagata Banerjee’s soon to release film Mandobasar Galpo. Excerpts…
Priyanka Dutta, Sholoana Bangaliana- Why did you pick the term Mandobasa?
Sanjib Banerji- This is just the alter ego of Bhalobasha. You need Mandobasa to understand and appreciate love. This came in my mind when I was penning down the script. That is how I came up with this word. Luckily everybody liked it and I am glad that the film has shaped up so well.
The film is a psychological film. I heard that it has thriller elements too. Can you shed some light on the story?
Sanjib Banerji- The film is a psychological film revolving around the life of the film maker Ahana. One can also say it is a film showcasing human relationships too. One can find some thriller elements in the film. This has just come up. When I was writing Sesh Anka, I knew I was writing a thriller. But this is more of a psychological film.
You have worked with Tathagata Banerjee before. How was the experience this time?
Sanjib Banerji- He is like family to me. We talk so much every day. We have a simple and easy going relationship. This cannot be expressed in words. The relation that we have is more on the personal side and hence it is always a special experience for me.
Wishing Sanjib Banerji all the best for Mandobasar Galpo!!
