Tollywood actor Soham Chakraborty’s birthday was celebrated recently at an event organized by Tollywood Talkies and Soham Chakraborty Fans Club at ILEAD Campus, Topsia. The actor was present to grace the occasion and also interact with the fans.

Actor Soham Chakraborty started his career in acting as Master Bittu at the tender age of three. He immediately caught the eyes of many directors and also won the hearts of the audiences. He is the only actor of the present generation who had the privilege of working with the legend, Late Satyajit Ray in Shakha Proshakha. After this he also did many films as a child artist. He then came back with Chander Bari as an adult actor. This was followed by Bajimaat and the very successful Prem Amar. Box office reports say that after Dev and Jeet, he is one of the highest grosser at the box office.

Speaking at the occasion, the actor said “I feel grateful that so many people love me and appreciate my work. This is a blessing in disguise. I will continue to work hard and live up to the expectations of the people”.

Soham’s upcoming films include Nabajiban Bima Company, Amanush 2, Kath Mundu, Jamai 420 and others.

The actor answered questions asked by his fans, posed for photographs and also mouthed some of his famous dialogues at the event.

We wish the actor all the best and hope he continues to entertain us with his acting in the future too.

Anglo-Indian Food Festival kick starts at Popular Bengali Fine Dining Restaurant Oh! Calcutta

Does Caramel Pudding, Cheese croquettes, Fish pantheras bring water to your mouth? Then you must surely head to the city’s fine dining destination Oh! Calcutta, to savor the taste of these Anglo-Indian dishes! The dishes will be made available for the customers as part of their fortnightly Anglo Indian Food Festival.

The Anglo-Indian food festival has also been started as Christmas is near and most people all over the city engage in outings with their friends and families. To cater to this spirit of the people, the festival has been started.

“The Anglo-Indians with their mixed genealogy of Portuguese, French, English forbearers have a definite stand when it comes to taste. Adding spices to the dishes cooked by the French, Portuguese people gives it a distinctive taste. This appeals to the Indian customers too. Steaks, sausages, grilled chicken are there in the menu of this food festival. Shepherd’s Pie which is a popular Anglo-Indian dish has been added to this menu” said Chef Subir Deb.

Some of the dishes which have emerged in the city alone include Entally chicken sausage, Dacres Lane roast chicken, Frithhath mutton curry. Apart from these dishes some of the other dishes which will be made available for the customers include Yellow rice with butter, Bread and butter pudding, Vegetable Tetrazini, Caramel pudding and others.

The dishes which will be getting the maximum likes from the customers will be included in the Oh! Calcutta menu! The restaurant has also checked the response to the Anglo-Indian dishes with the regular customers of the restaurant. The response has been positive so far.

Meal for two will cost about fifteen hundred rupees plus taxes.

In its second year, the organizers of the food festival hope that the turn out of the customers will be as great as it had happened in the past year.

Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Inaugurated by Living Legend Amitabh Bachchan

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), was inaugurated by the Bollywood Megastar and living Legend Amitabh Bachchan. IFFM celebrates the festival of Indian Cinema. The biggest stars and the most eminent filmmakers are present at this festival introducing their work and bringing in the magic of Bollywood to Melbourne. It is an eleven day long brimful festival.

Amitabh Bachchan delightfully states, “I am delighted that Melbourne is hosting this Festival. I am very honoured.” The Victorian Government has conferred to award Mr.Bachchan with the International Screen Icon Award at the Gala Event of the festival.“Indeed I am honoured that they have decided to give me this award. I just feel that I am least accomplished to receive such a recognition but this is your kindness, affection and grace.” Amitabh Bachchan said at a press conference. Even before his arrival at the festival, excitement had built around every corner of Melbourne city. He was received with warm welcome from a huge crowd uplifting him at the Melbourne Airport. He was seen socialising with IFFM’s media partners and sponsors at Event.

The inaugural ceremony began with Mr. Bachchan lighting the ceremonial lamp and addressing the audience. Amitabh Bachchan was announced as the “One – Man patriarch of the Indian Cinema.” He also shares his thoughts on visiting Australia and talks about his role in the Indian Cinema during press interviews at the festival.

Miss Lovely Promotions in Kolkata; Nawazuddin Siddqui is a Porn Films Producer in this New Movie

Nawazuddinn Siddiqui, Niharika Singh and director Ashim Ahluwalia were in Kolkata to promote their New Movie “ Miss Lovely ”. The press conference for this film took place at Hotel Hindustan International Kolkata.

Miss Lovely is a film which is set in the criminal depths of Mumbai’s C-grade (horror and porn film) industry. The story is primarily about the Duggal brothers who produce sleazy sex horror films in the mid 1980’s. The movie explores the intense and mutually destructive relationship between the younger sibling Sonu Duggal(Nawazuddin) and his elder brother Vicky(Anil George). Sonu finds himself drawn to a mysterious young woman named Pinky (Niharika Singh) which eventually leads to his downfall.

Speaking about the film, Ashim Ahluwalia said “The stylized form, densely layered narrative, period costumes and production design simultaneously conveys a pulp style and contemptuous modernity. The film constantly switches between genre pieces and is a part love story, part documentary and part melodrama”. This is the first feature film of the director who wants to stay away from making commercial factory productions genre of movies. The film has been shot on a combination of Kodak Super 16 and 35 mm films in widescreen.

Nawazuddin while sharing his experience of working with Niharika Singh said, “The first day I came to know I have to work with a model as my co-actor, I was nervous. However when we began acting, I found her to be honest, easy going and comfortable to work with”. This is Nawazuddin’s first film in a lead role and the actor is sort of happy at having bagged a role as the lead. He also laid stress on the fact that he will be looking for more such lead roles in this year.

Niharika Singh, the winner of Femina Miss India Earth 2005 revealed that she had been warned by her friends not to do such a film like Miss Lovely. “This is not the typical Friday release that audiences are habituated at watching. This is a new kind of film which aims at addressing an issue” said the pretty actress who is yet to make her mark in Bollywood. The actress had done many films which did not release. “I do not have any god father in the industry to guide me. I did films earlier which came my way. Now I will pick the films on the basis of the script and the director” added the actress.

The film has competed in the Un-Certain regard section at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. It has also been screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and International Film Festival Rotterdam. Miss Lovely is scheduled for commercial release in India on January 17, 2014.
