Parambrata Chatterjee is a Bengali film actor who started his career with Bengali television and films. Apart from being an actor he has also established himself as a director of repute. Hailing from a family which has films in its genes, it was no wonder that this young man will soon enter the world of films. He is the grandson of the late film maker Ritwick Ghatak. After completing his schooling from Patha Bhavan, he went on to complete his Bachelors and Masters Degree in English literature from Jadavpur University. He then went on to complete Masters in Film and TV Production from Bristol University.
As an actor he has worked in a string of films like Kaalbela, Dosar, The Bong Connection, Bombaiyer Bombete, Chalo Let’s Go, Bhalo Theko, Kahaani, Hawa Bodol, Mach Mishti and More and many other films. The actor has worked under many eminent directors in such a short span of time. It is after Kahaani that the actor gained much importance. He also acted in Bhalo Theko which was Vidya Balan’s debut film.
As a director Parambrata has directed three feature films. Jiyo Kaka was the first one followed by Hawa Bodol. The third is Lorai starring Prasenjit Chatterjee and revolves around the game of football.
The actor recently celebrated his 34th birthday on 27th June with his fan club members. Present at the birthday ceremony was Raima Sen who has starred with Parambrata Chatterjee in many films. Also present was actress Sudipta Chakraborty. The actor cut the cake brought by the fan club members and also spent time with them.
