Amitabh Bachchan Promotes New Bollywood Film Shamitabh in Kolkata

He was at Jorasanko Thakurbari. He was at the Oberoi Grand Hotel. Kolkata was privileged to have the superstar Amitabh Bachchan throughout the whole day. Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan were in the city for the promotion of the upcoming film Shamitabh and to interact with the audience.

“The story of the film Shamitabh is about Dhanush’s and my character. We fulfill each other. How we can use each other and yet manage to strike a balance in our lives is what Akshara’s character in the film suggests to us. She plays the role of the journalist in the soon to release film” said Amitabh Bachchan.

Looking pretty in a black t-shirt and black jeans, actress Akshara Haasan looked visibly nervous at the press conference. “Well yes, I was very nervous and scared during the shoot. No amount of previous experience of working as the Assistant Director came in handy when you have to share the screen space with Mr. Bachchan” said Akshara. The actress however added that for the other scenes in the film, she could internalize and act accordingly.

The Superstar refused to reveal much about the plot of the film stating that will reduce the interest of the audiences in the upcoming Bollywood film. This is Amitabh Bachchan’s third film with the director R. Balki. Speaking about the association, the actor said “R. Balki’s concepts are different and the films he makes are hence quite different from the typical Bollywood films. Whether it is Paa or Cheeni Kum, both are different films. With Shamitabh, he has again attempted something new and I am glad to be a part of this endeavor”.

In the course of the press conference, India’s most famous and popular baritone voice also narrated how he was rejected at Akashbani. “Many great people used to work at Akashbani at that time and it is not a great surprise when they actually rejected me for the post of the news presenter” said Big B.
