Poet Subodh Sarkar Releases Detective Thriller “In The Shadows of Death”

So if you are planning to stay back home and read something interesting to divert your mind, detective thrillers are simply the best option. Sourabh Mukherjee’s “In the Shadows of Death”, a detective Agni Mitra thriller was released at its Quest Mall outlet of Starmark recently.

Sheetal Mehra is a HR executive with Crescent Technologies. She is found murdered in the toilet of a Kolkata hotel after an office party. ACP Agni Mitra finds out about her adulterous ways as he starts investigating into the murder. The miffed husband, a lecherous boss, one of her many jilted admirers – anyone could have killed her. The investigation is stuck in myriad perplexing questions when the murder of Meenakshi Menon, a Director with Altius Finance, hits the headlines. As more murders rock the city, it is not too long before the battle of with his unseen adversary turns personal for Agni. “In the Shadows of Death” is a gripping page-turner with a heart-rending emotional core.

The launch was followed by a panel discussion with the participants being Prof. Subodh Sarkar the eminent poet and author, Amrita Mukherjee, author, journalist and blogger, and Reetasri Ghosh, Director, Ananta Aspen Centre. The panel discussion was moderated by Antara Banerjee, author, poet and artist.

Actor Prosenjit Chatterjee graces launch of Journalist Amrita Mukherjee’s Book ‘Exit Interview’


New Fiction Novel Exit Interview by Amrita Mukherjee Launched

In the august presence of ace Tollywood actor Prosenjit Chatterjee, the debut novel of Journalist Amrita Mukherjee “Exit Interview” was unveiled.

The novel Exit Interview is the story of Rasha Roy who leaves the comfort of her home to pursue a career in journalism. With the passing of time, she realizes that life is not a bed of roses in this field that she has selected. She moves from a job in India to that of one in Dubai. She realizes that the exit interviews are all a sham. She meets a young woman at a police station in Cairo. Will this be the biggest story of her life? Or will the story die an early death like the other stories? This is what Exit Interview is all about.

Speaking at the occasion, Amrita Mukherjee said “Many incidents in the book are actual things that happened to me during my stint as a journalist. What I have understood about the media and its working style during the last fifteen years is what I have tried to pen down in this book. I hope the readers like my writing”.

Eminent personalities like Tota Roy Choudhuy, Koneenica Banerjee, Sudipta Chakaborty and Biplab Dasgupta engaged the author and the audience in an engaging discussion titled “What’s in an interview?”.

The debut novel of Amrita Mukherjee is priced at Rs. 236 and is published by Rupa Publications India.
