The Mahurat of the upcoming Bengali film Nayikar Bhumikaye took place recently at Indrapuri Studio. Present at the Mahurat of the new film was director Swagato Chowdhury, Indrani Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Shakuntala Barua, Joy Sarkar and others.
The story of Nayikar Bhumikaye is about a forty two year old housewife named Lohna who aspires to fulfill her dreams of becoming an actress. She does not get enough time for pursuing her dreams after fulfilling her duties towards her family. This does not deter her as she continues in her own way of pursuing her dreams. What happens next is what the film all about.
Actress Indrani Dutta will be seen in the role of Lohna in this film. Speaking about her role, the actress said “After Belaseshe which did really well and is still running in many theatres, I was bombarded with many film offers. But I was careful and I selected this role as this allowed me to do something different. The character that I play in this film can be found in every family. Many women who cannot pursue their dreams will understand this character well”.
The actress who is a good friend of actress Rituparna Sengupta said “Ritu is a very dear friend. Our association goes back to a long time ago. Our careers also began at around the same time. Sharing screen space with your best friend is a great feeling. I think we will both have a great time shooting”.
The story of the film is by Anindita Chakraborty, while the music will be composed by Joy Sarkar. The screenplay and the dialogues have been penned by Subrata Chowdhury and Anindita Chakraborty. Manash Ganguly is the DOP of the film.
Rituparna Sengupta and Abhishek Chatterjee will be seen in guest appearances in the film.
