Prizes given to puja committees for Durga Pujas have become very common with each passing year. But Kali puja organizing committees are not given such awards despite the fact that this puja is also celebrated with much devotion, pomp and show. To honor their efforts and to motivate the kali Puja organizing committees, Sera Kalipuja Samman 2014 was organized by Excel Communication and Relation. Present at the occasion were Mouboni Sarkar, Sumita Bhattacharya(head of Orange TV), Mainak Mitra (Fever 104 FM), Shankar Dutta(journalist), Chandan Dodo Ray (journalist), Arnab Midia and Tanmay Das. The event took place at Rotary Sadan.
The prizes were given to the Kali Puja organizing committees in Kolkata, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas. Some of the areas in which the selection were done included Sera Protima, Sera Mondopsojja, Sera Aloksojja and Sera Poribesh. Some of the winners Chetla Thakurpukur Cultural association, Behala Silpara Barisha Shanti Sangha, Pioneer Park, Netaji Sangha, Chetla Sarbosadharaner Pujo and others.
Speaking at the occasion actress Mouboni Sarkar said “This is indeed a good way of recognizing the efforts of the Kali Puja committees. They have been doing great work and this will further motivate them to do the good job in future too. I am privileged to come to this occasion”.
Apart from the award giving ceremony the music launch of an upcoming Bengali thriller film “O k? At night in the forest” also took place. Director Somnath Gupta, Kumkum Dey and the lead cast comprising of Rohit and Piyali took part in the music launch ceremony. The music has been composed by Angshuman Chattopadhyay. With five songs in the film, Kumar Sanu, Pinki, Anindita Ganguly and Bharati Pal have lent their voices to the songs in the film.
