Preview: Upcoming Bengali Film Amanush 2; Payel and Sohom Paired up for a Nail Biting Psychological Thriller

Ace Tollywood director Rajib Biswas who got much critical acclaim and box office success due to his 2010 released film Amanush is back again with his upcoming Bengali film Amanush 2. The first film had Shrabanti and Sohom Chatterjee in lead roles. The new film will however have Sohom Chakraborty and Payel Sarkar in lead roles.

 

The story of the new film revolves around Raghu (played by Sohom). He impersonates different personalities but demolishes any person who tries to unveil his true identity. Raghu is a good student. He falls in trouble when his father commits suicide. Out of rage and the desperation to seek revenge, he sets the house on fire. The fire kills his mother. This event lands him in a juvenile home.

Raghu is released after the sentence and he heads to Chennai looking for a new life. He meets a medical student named Saleem on the way and befriends him. The bus meets with an accident and Saleem dies. Raghu forges his identity and joins the college as Saleem. He next meets Ashok, Riya (Payel) and Suresh and develops a friendship with them. One day the group meets the juvenile warden who recognizes Raghu. However Raghu rejects the claim which leaves Ashok in a dilemma.

They plan for a trip to the farm house of Ashok. A misunderstanding between the three of them leads to Raghu leaving the house. Meanwhile a series of murders begin. Raghu’s identity is also clarified. Who is committing the murder? Raghu or Saleem? Who is the real Amanush? Amanush 2 will answer all these questions.

The script and the dialogues of this film have been penned down by Anindo Bose. The DOP is Madhu Shee while the editing has been done by Anindo Chattopadhyay. Art direction has been done by Tanmoy Chakraborty. With music by Arindom and lyrics by Prasen, Amanush 2 will also score high on the music front.

The film is eyeing for a release on 15th April, coinciding with the Bengali New Year’s Day or Poila Boisakh.
