Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Debut Hindi Film Pink To Release Soon; A Stellar Team of National Award Winners


National Award Winning director Aniuddha Roy Chowdhury is making his Bollywood debut with the film Pink. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Rashmi Sharma and Ronnie Lahiri, PINK stars Amitabh Bachchan along with Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang and Angad Bedi.

Shoojit Sircar’s PINK has overwhelmingly evoked stirring conversations and debates across the country with its shocking trailer launched recently. Amitabh Bachchan’s explosively provocative dialogues, Taapsee Pannu’s never-seen-before avatar along with her friends submerged in mysterious circumstances and various thrill elements has the audiences keenly looking forward to the release of the film.

Shoojit’s PINK is a creative collaboration of some of the most talented artistes in India, with a staggering 10 National Award winners as part of its core team!

Amitabh Bachchan commands the team with 4 National Awards to his credit (Piku, Paa, Black and Agneepath), along with Shoojit Sircar and producer Ronnie Lahiri winning the National Award for Vicky Donor and Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury already established as a leading light in the field of direction with 2 National Awards in his kitty as well.

Joining the above is musician Shantanu Moitra who won the National Award for Best Music Direction, Ace Cinematographer Avik Mukhopadhayay with 3 National Awards, Sound Designer Bishwadeep Chatterjee with 2 National Awards, Sound Mixer Nihar Ranjan Samal with 2 National Awards, Re-recording Mixer Sinoy Joseph with One National Award and Sound Designer Dipankar Jojo Chaki with 2 National Awards respectively.

Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury said that the audiences will be able to relate with the film as the story is very realistic. The fact that the top heroines have not been taken for the film is because the director wanted to keep the characters fresh.

The film is slated for release on the 16th of September.

National Award Winning Composer Shantanu Moitra’s book “On the wings of Music: A Book of Journeys” launched by Tollywood Hero Dev

“He is an avid traveler, a good cook, a great musician and also a person who loves to live life to the fullest” said Anindya Chattopadhyay at the book launch of Shantanu Moitra’s book “On the wings of Music: A Book of Journeys”. Present at the launch of the book were Dev, Aniruddha Roy Choudhury, model Rukmini and Sudipta Chakraborty.


Shantanu Moitra had earlier written a book titled Pherari Mon which was published three years ago. The book “On the wings of Music: A book of journeys” gives the readers a glimpse into the life of the music composer Shantanu Moitra. His love for music to his first strumming a guitar to his journey to Mumbai and collaborating with eminent musicians on various projects are all highlighted in this book by the music composer. Written in an autobiographical style, the book has anecdotes, stories, reminiscences and self revelations. The book is embellished with notations and photographs to help in carrying forward the narrative.


“Where there is friendship, there is prosperity. And when we work, it is more fun. We hardly feel the stress of work” said director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.

Dev’s association with Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury began with Bunohaansh. “He is an amazing man. I am not an avid reader and I hate reading. But it is just for Shantanu da that I am here today. I will request everybody to read the book. I have myself completed about half the book and I promise to finish the book soon. A CD consisting of beautiful Hindi and Bengali songs of various genres like Sufi, Romantic is also available with this book for people like me who do not like reading” said Dev.


The book launch session ended with Shantanu Moitra reading excerpts from the book and also singing a few lines from some of the popular tracks composed by him.

Priced at Rs. 325, the book has been published by HarperCollins Publishers India.
