The press conference of the upcoming Bengali film Room No 103 took place in the august presence of director Aniket Chattopadhyay, Jisshu Sengupta, Badsha Moitra, Anjana Basu and others.
The film Room No 103 narrates the story about four boarders who came to stay at a hotel named Raat Din. The story of the four boarders is narrated by Rudra Chatterjee who is the manager of the hotel. The manager however does not allot Room No 103 to all boarders coming to stay at the hotel. He understands their personality and nature and then allots the room.
Speaking at the occasion, director Aniket Chattopadhyay said “The film has thriller elements which will appeal to many audiences surely. Added to this is the good background music which has been scored by Mayukh Bhaumik. He has done an extremely good job with the music of the film”.
The film also has Soumitra Chatterjee, Parijat, Rajesh Sharma, Ankita in important roles. Soumitra Chatterjee plays the role of Rudra Chatterjee in the film. “Soumitra Chatterjee was my first choice for this role because it is he who could do justice to the character of Rudra in the film. With minimal dialogues his face did all the talking” added the director.
The film was premiered at the Darpan Film Festival, Singapore and received positive feedback from the audiences. The Kolkata audiences will however wait for the thriller to release on 15th May in the city to enjoy the thrills of Room No 103.
Swachch Bharat Abhiyan which had kick-started all over the country also made its presence felt in the city. Giving in to the clarion call of the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi, eminent celebrities of Kolkata took part in the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan event that started from the Santoshpur Mini bus stand and had been organized by the Santoshpur Jadavpur Nagarik Mancha.
Some of the celebrities who supported this event and came in to participate included Rituparna Sengupta, Suman Banerjee, P. C. Sorcar and his family, George Baker, Anjana Basu, Nimu Bhoumick, Anindo Chakraborty and others.
Tollywood Diva Rituparna Sengupta along with director Jayasree Bhattacharya was also present at the occasion. Speaking at the occasion Rituparna Sengupta said “This is indeed a great and noble initiative. It is our duty as responsible citizens to clean our country. It is simply not only the duty of the government but also of the people too. We must all understand this and work accordingly. Only then will our Honorable Prime Minister’s dream come true”.
Magician P. C. Sorcar who was also part of this initiative came in with his family for the initiative. “I wish I could eradicate all the garbage with the help of my magic. That would have been the ultimate achievement for me as a magician. People look up to us and it becomes even more important to act as role models. I am very happy to be a part of this initiative”.

New Audio Music Album “Ichchemotir Goppo ~ Saat Narir Katha” was released by noted actor Ms Madhabi Mukherjee, Sreeradha Bandyopadhyay, Pandit Kumar Bose along with Sri Kalyan Sen Barat, the Music Director and Arranger and noted social activist Shyamashree Sen.
Ichchemotir Goppo is the fruition of Kaushik Sengupta’s thoughts on womanhood across generations, borders, cultures and economic zones. Through seven stories of women from various walks of life, some of which are inspired by real life incidents, he has paid tribute to all women of all times. Whether it is a sex worker who discovers Tagore, an innocent victim of sexual torture, a mother of an assassinated political activist, a young household help who shows tremendous bravery, a woman from Murshidabad who broke all shackles and built an educational institution or a fallen woman who falls in love that is so pure and true or “language” that is a woman … Kaushik Sengupta has woven the tales to create a beautiful rainbow which covers every emotion of women that one may imagine. All the poems or prose pieces and songs brimming with emotions of various hues are written by Kaushik. The songs which have been set to tune by Sri Kalyan Sen Barat, have been melodiously presented by Indrani Sen, Sriradha Bandyopadhyay, Lopamudra Mitra, Shubhamita, Jayati Chakraborty and Disha Roy.
The album’s only Tagore song has been sung by Srabani Sen.
The stories and poems of this New Audio Music Album have been narrated by Bratati Bandyapadhyay, Dolon Roy, Bidipta Chakraborty, Aparajita Addhya, Chita Sen, Sudipta Chakraborty and Anjana Basu.
