Barun-Chanda-book-launch

The book India Conquered shows how many of the institutions that shaped twentieth century India, Bangladesh and Pakistan were built in response to the British power. The result is an engaging story important for any individual who wants to understand the history of the empires and the origins of the contemporary South Asian society. The book is a nuanced novel which gives insights on the infirmities of the British Raj which were otherwise considered to be regal and sovereign.

The writer read important passages of the book, following which a discussion took place at the same event.
