The trailer and music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Antarleen took place in the august presence of director Arindam Bhattacharya, Mamata Shankar, Ratul Shankar, Timir Biswas, Kharaj Mukherjee, Sampurna Lahiri and others.
The story of the film is about the town Kausauli. Not many tourist visit this town located seventy kilometers away from Shimla. However the town has many structures of the British era. A murder takes place in this place and this is what the story of the film all about.
Kharaj Mukherjee said “I play a character that is on the verge of retirement and has recently lost his wife. He has gone to this place simply to relax and roam around. It is here that he gets engaged in the happenings. I am extremely mesmerized by the way the director has handled the making of the film. That is impressive. I have also sung a Rabindrasangeet in the film which I think will be liked by the audience. The character that I play is different from the ones that the audience generally sees me playing. It has been a good experience shooting the film”.
The music of the film has been composed by Ratul Shankar. There are three songs in the film. Two out of which are Rabindrasangeet and one is a travel song. The songs have been sung by Kharaj Mukherjee, Shraboni Sen and Timir Biswas.
“I was not doing films at the moment but after reading the script I liked it so much that I said yes to do the film. Arindam has been very engaged and focused as a new director. The film will keep the audience hooked to their seats” said Mamata Shankar.
Kharaj Mukherjee, Mamata Shankar, Prabhat Pandey and Sampurna Lahiri will be seen in important roles in this film.
The film is slated for release on 25th November.
