The music album launch of Mainak Bhaumik’s next film Bibaho Diaries took place recently. The event was graced by the director, Sohini Sarkar, Lagnajita, Anupam Roy, Biswanath Basu, Savvy and others.
Royona (Sohini Sarkar) and Protyoy (Ritwick Chakraborty) is a modern day young couple who get married after falling in love. However they face hurdles in their personal life due to the age old traditions of marriage. The film showcases how the couple deals with these issues and also how they maintain the romance in their life.
“Life is different when one is in love and wants to get married. But the equation changes when one gets married. With this film I have tried to explore that in a humorous way” said the director.
An unique initiative by TV Today Network, India’s first romantic radio station Ishq 104.8 FM was launched in the presence of directors Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Anupam Roy, Tanushree and other celebrities.
Many of us complain about too much talking and ads in radio channels. With this channel that will not be the case. The ad inventory is only ten minutes per hour. The channel is present in three cities namely Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. In Mumbai and Delhi, Karan Johar and Ranbir Kapoor launched the brand.
The playlist has been co-curated by Anupam Roy. “The best of romantic songs -both of films and non-films will be played in this channel. I am glad I could be associated with this channel. Love is a strong sentiment and to have one station where love is so dominant will indeed be so awesome” said the music composer.
The station jingle has been composed by music duo Sachin-Jigar and sung by Benny Dayal and Anushka Manchanda. The Bengali adaptation of this song has been created by the team at Ishq and both the songs are extremely hummable.
The morning will begin with Anindya and Ananya who will celebrate Kolkata. Mid-mornings from 11am Judo will bring humor in the lives of the listeners. Tuski from 2pm will shed light on love, life and films. Arnab with his guitar and gossips will be there from 5pm. Souvik from 9 pm will deal with relationships and real life love stories.
Bengali film Benche Thakar Gaan has partnered with the station. Director Sudeshna Roy said “I know many at the station with whom I have worked before. Hence, I feel more at home here. Love can be best expressed with songs. I am looking forward to listening to the compilation of songs by Anupam!!”

The music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Hotath Dekha was released recently in the august presence of director Reshmi Mitra, Debosree Roy, music director Raja Narayan Deb and others.
The story and screenplay of the film Hothat Dekha has been derived from the poem Hotat Dekha by Rabindranath Tagore.
The music and background score of Hotath Dekha is by Raja Narayan Deb. The songs have been sung by Kartick Das Baul, Monomoy Bhattacharya, Suvomita, Anupam Roy and Rejwana Chowdhury Banya respectively. The lyrics are by Rabindranath Tagore, Bhaba Pagla, Lalan Fakir and Gautam Susmit.
Debasree Roy, Sankar Chakaborty, Partha Sarathi Deb, Avik Ghosh, Ilias Kanchan, Kartick Das Baul, Premankur Chakaborty will be seen in pivotal roles in this upcoming Bengali film.
The film Hothat Dekha is an Indo-Bangladesh joint venture and will also be shown at the 22nd Kolkata International Film Festival.
The music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Teenanko took place recently in the august presence of director Bithin Das, Rituparna Sengupta, Mumtaz Sorcar, Monami Ghosh, Indrashish Roy, Somlata Acharya and others.
Teenanko is a supernatural thriller which narrates the gripping account of three women across three distinct periods- 1890, 1965 and 2016. These women are connected under mysterious circumstances. Speaking about the film, director Bithin Das said “The film will be an audio-visual experience for the audience. The background music and the songs will keep the audience hooked. The film has six songs and to cater to the three time periods shown in the film, the songs have been composed accordingly. Somlata Acharya, Anupam Roy, Arko Mukhaerjee have sung in the film and the music have been composed by Arko Mukhaerjee”.
The director also added that to give authenticity to the film a newspaper with an article about the plague of Kolkata in the 1890’s will also be shown in the film.
Kadambi, the character of 1890 will be played by Rituparna Sengupta and her husband Mrinal will be played by Bhaskar Banerjee. Bidita Bag plays Nolini while Indrashish plays the role of her husband. Mumtaz Sorcar plays the role of Sohini, a journalist. Shantilal Mukherjee, Shankar Chakraborty, Sumanta Mukherjee, Ashmita Mukherjee will be seen in important roles in this film.
The film is slated for release on the 18th of November.
Video: Jayati Chakraborty’s Album Folk Lok Released
In the august presence of eminent dignitaries like Anupam Roy, Lopamudra Mitra, Goutam Basu, Mahua Lahiri, Prattyush Bandopadhyay, the music album Folk Lok by singer Jayati Chakraborty was released.
This is the first folk album of Jayati Chakraborty and the singer was visibly excited at the release ceremony. Speaking at the occasion, she said “I feel privileged that Mahua Lahiri of Asha Audio has shown so much trust in me. I have done three Rabindrasangeet albums with them. But even without listening to my songs, she agreed to do this folk album. I am grateful to her for showing so much trust. Lopa di has always been my inspiration- in music or even at times in the way she dresses herself. I have disturbed her many times to get certain lines correct”.
Folk Lok is a combination of traditional folk songs with contemporary music. the six songs in the album ranges from Jhumur, Lalngeeti, Sufi, Bhaoyaiaa among a few. Lopamudra Mitra while speaking at the event said that the album will be a delight for the listeners of folk music.
Prattyush Bandopadhyay who has arranged the music said “The last folk album I did was with Lopamudra about nine or ten years ago. After a long break I have arranged the music of this folk album with Jayati. Hopefully the audience will like it”.
Brought out by Asha Audio, the album has been priced at Rs 125. The music album is available at leading music stores and also on the online platforms.
