The Mahurat of director Ringo’s next directorial venture New Kolkata Bengali Movie Ek Je Ache Sohor took place at Techno India Salt Lake Campus. Present at the Mahurat were Ringo, Rahul, Sayani Dutta, Rana Mitra, Chaiti Ghoshal, Aryan, Rupsa, Bobby, Aparajita and producer Bajrang Agarwal.
“Ek Je Ache Sohor is the story of the two extremes of Kolkata- the city is neither fantastically rich nor inordinately poor as is often shown in films. This is a city of the middle class people who are often neglected in films. It is about an alcoholic husband, a traffic sergeant who understands the wrongs that he has done. It is also about a rehab doctor who is a victim of domestic abuse. The film is my first ensemble film with such a huge cast. I hope I will be able to do justice to the story that I have conceived” said director Ringo. The characters in the film have been given their real life names. “This is great fun and also interesting. I do not have to call the actors twice as the names of the characters are also their real life names” added Ringo with a smile. The USP of this film is Kolkata, feels the director.
Rana Mitra plays the role of a cop in the film. “I have a family consisting of my wife and a child. I become involved in a wrong deed and my wife and child leave me. I realize my mistake and even my family realizes that he is not such a bad person as they had initially perceived him” said the actor. Rahul plays the role of his brother-in-law in this film.
Actress Sayani Dutta found her character in Ek Je Ache Sohor to be more challenging and complex than her character in the film Na Hyanate. “The character is very complex and challenging. Whenever I get the script of any film, I delve deep into the role. For this role also I will have to dive deep and bring out the best. My character unable to deal with the pressures from her family decides to become a call girl on that day” said the actress.
The film is produced under the banner of Winds of Autumn production and the film is expected to release in the month of June.
