Cast of Bengali Film Romantic Noy Inaugurated Painting Exhibition Cart That Art 2.0- Priceless Art @ Artful Prices

Ashok Haralalka and thirteen other contemporary artists from Kolkata presented, CART THAT ART 2.0 – PRICELESS ART @ ARTFUL PRICES, at ICCR. The exhibition is an eclectic mix of around 75 attractive paintings that represented everything from spirituality to various facades of Kolkata and a plethora of moods and melodies on canvas. This was the exhibition’s second edition.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the cast of the upcoming Bengali film Romantic Noy consisting of Sayani Datta, Partha Sarathi along with Director Rajib Chowdhury as well as veteran designer Sharbari Datta. A part of the proceedings from the sale at the exhibition will go to the Howrah based NGO, Little Big Help which had 15 children in attendance for the event.

The painters exhibiting in the program include Ashok Haralalka, Kavita Bhuwalka, Madhabi Sarkar, Nidhi Bhadani, Usha Bubna, Anamika Toshniwal, Debarati Roy, Anukta M Ghosh, Indrani Chaudhuri, Sanjeeta Ahmed, Sudha Jhunjhunwala, Sharad Jhunjhunwala, Shubhla Verma and Surabhi Agarwal.

The paintings encompass a variety of styles- representations of old Kolkata, charcoal and mixed media on canvas, representations of the female form or the vibrant representations left the enthusiasts mesmerized and contemplative.

The exhibition will continue till 13th November 2016, 3pm to 8 pm at ICCR.

Fashion Designer Agnimitra Paul inaugurated Art Exhibition Tapestry I Relief I Painting

Emami Chisel organized an exhibition of Tapestry I Relief I Painting, showcasing 15 paintings, 6 relief works (Metal), 23 tapestry, by eminent Indian artist S.G.Vasudev in Kolkata. The exhibition was inaugurated by noted fashion designer Agnimitra Paul and eminent artist Shuvaprasanna in the presence of distinguished artists and art connoisseurs of the city.

S.G.Vasudev, one of the pioneers of the Madras Art movement, which happened in 60’s, has constantly upgraded his thoughts with changing times in his art works. His updated thoughts and visualization has made him popular among the art lovers of every age thereby maintaining his position in the arena of art consistently.

Kolkata-art-exhibition For every batch of paintings and drawings developed over a particular period of time, Vasudev made a couple of copper reliefs too. From the 70s until the turn of the century, a succession of themes became prominent within his works. The earliest series revolved around the ‘Vriksha’ or Tree of Life, the preoccupation of the next period was ‘Maithuna’ (Acts of Love) an exploration of the union of male and female. Then he went on to ‘Humanscapes’ and later ‘He and She’ towards the early nineties. ‘Theatre of Life’ and ‘Earthscapes’ were subjects that identified his work as the new millennium came in. His most recent series is termed ‘Rhapsody’ and evokes rhythms and harmonious patterns.

The exhibition offered artworks in tapestries, reliefs and paintings selected and compiled tastefully. The artworks were available for all art connoisseurs at prices between INR 1, 25,000 to INR 16, 50,000.

Bollywood Director Madhur Bhandarkar in Kolkata To Inaugurate Art with a Heart

Bollywood director Madhur Bhandarkar was in Kolkata for the inauguration of the two day exhibition Art with a Heart. Hosted by WelcomeArt and FICCI Ladies Organisation, the money raised from the sale of the paintings was given to the CSR program of Medica for the benefit of needy patients requiring financial assistance for life threatening surgeries. The art exhibition was done by Jagriti Art Initiative in association with Medica Superspecialty Hospital.

Also present at the event was Atul Bhalla, General Manager, ITC Sonar, Gaurang Jalan, Director, Jagriti Art Initiative, Anupama Surekha, FLO, Dr. Kunal Sarkar, Senior Vice-Chairman, Medica Super Specialty Hospital.

Speaking at the occasion, director Madhur Bhandarkar said “It is a great privilege for me to be associated with such an event. The paintings are awesome and I m glad I came down for the event”. The ace Bollywood director also took the opportunity to announce the name of his next film which is Hindu Sarkar.

The exhibition had sixty five paintings by Abhijit Mitra, Aditya Basak, Arpan Bhowmik, Basudeb Ghosh, Jiban Biswas, Mahua Mitra, Manoj Mitra, Dipak Kundu, Bijon Chowdhury and others.

Exhibition Pride of Bengal Inaugurated by Prosenjit Chatterjee; Tribute to Mahanayak Uttam Kumar

The show Pride of Bengal was inaugurated by eminent Tollywood actor Prosenjit Chatterjee. The exhibition was dedicated to Mahanayak Uttam Kumar. This is indeed a great way of paying tribute to the late actor by today’s reigning actor, Prosenjit Chatterjee. He plays the role of Mahanayak in the Star Jalsha serial of the same name.

This event was organized by an e –commerce site known as Artmikado.com. the exhibition held at Mukti World Banquets had twenty five portraits of Uttam Kumar indifferent moods. Some of the artists who have contributed to the exhibition are Ahana Sen, Amit Kumar Mistry, Bipul Roy, Dipa Talukdar, Joydeep Dhar and many others.

Speaking at the occasion, Prosenjit Chatterjee said “I have deep respect for Uttam Kumar. I am extremely privileged that I have been called in for the inauguration of this exhibition. The paintings have truly captured the late actor in diverse moods brilliantly”.

The exhibition also had many other paintings by other artists too.

Mixed Media- An Art exhibition of Sorts Inaugurated by the pretty Tollywood actress Arunima Ghosh


Mixed Media: An art Exhibition of Sorts at Gothic Haat Kolkata

Actress Arunima Ghosh, painter Samir Aich, Prashant Gupta, Debaditya Chaudhury inaugurated an assemblage of artworks of twenty renowned artists titled Mixed Media at Gothic Haat.

Conceptualized and curated by Uma Mitra, the exhibition presents an interesting mix of artworks. Acrylic on canvas, pastels on paper, mixed media on paper, ink on paper or tempera on board are some of the unique artworks created with a blend of technology and different media that have been displayed in this exhibition.

Some of the artists whose art works have been put on display in this exhibition include Aditya Basak, Atin Basak, Arnab Basu, Suhas Roy, Samir Aich, Suvaprasanna, Gopal Sen, Ganesh Haloi, Jayashree Chakravarty, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Om Swami and many others. About forty works of the various artists have been put on display in the exhibition.

Speaking at the occasion actress Arunima Ghosh said “The collection of art works is just awesome. People staying in the area can now come here and enjoy the artworks. They will not have to go far to enjoy such great works. Gothic Haat is a nice art centre for the residents of this area, for sure”.

The exhibition Mixed Media will continue till 12th April at Gothic Haat from 2pm to 5pm.
