The music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Romantic Noy took place in the presence of Sayani Datta, Subhayu, Rupankar, Partha Sarathi, Shaheb Bhattacharjee and others.
The album of Romantic Noy has three songs ‘Prano Bhoriyae’, ‘Amar Sahor’ , ‘Katobar Bhebechinu’. The songs have been composed by Subhayu and the lyrics are by Rabindranath Tagore and Neel Shikhar Aich. Singers who have lent their voices to the songs in the film consist of Rupankar, Sujay and Dipanwita.
The story of the film revolves around a small town guy who comes to Kolkata with a lot of dreams. He wants to be something and Kolkata to him is like a land of opportunities. Then what happens to him? Is he able to fulfill his dreams? The answer to these questions forms the climax of the story.
Romantic Noy has been written and directed by Rajib Chowdhury and is slated for release soon.
The music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Teenanko took place recently in the august presence of director Bithin Das, Rituparna Sengupta, Mumtaz Sorcar, Monami Ghosh, Indrashish Roy, Somlata Acharya and others.
Teenanko is a supernatural thriller which narrates the gripping account of three women across three distinct periods- 1890, 1965 and 2016. These women are connected under mysterious circumstances. Speaking about the film, director Bithin Das said “The film will be an audio-visual experience for the audience. The background music and the songs will keep the audience hooked. The film has six songs and to cater to the three time periods shown in the film, the songs have been composed accordingly. Somlata Acharya, Anupam Roy, Arko Mukhaerjee have sung in the film and the music have been composed by Arko Mukhaerjee”.
The director also added that to give authenticity to the film a newspaper with an article about the plague of Kolkata in the 1890’s will also be shown in the film.
Kadambi, the character of 1890 will be played by Rituparna Sengupta and her husband Mrinal will be played by Bhaskar Banerjee. Bidita Bag plays Nolini while Indrashish plays the role of her husband. Mumtaz Sorcar plays the role of Sohini, a journalist. Shantilal Mukherjee, Shankar Chakraborty, Sumanta Mukherjee, Ashmita Mukherjee will be seen in important roles in this film.
The film is slated for release on the 18th of November.
The music launch of the Bengali film Thammar Boyfriend took place in the presence of Anindya Ghosh, Abir Chatterjee, Sabitri Chatterjee, Arunima and others.
The story of the film Thammar Boyfriend is about a seventy five year old widow Nandini Mitra (Sabitri Chatterjee) residing in a big mansion in Debimongolpur. She has inherited much wealth from her husband’s side. One day her children and grand children receive a letter that she has someone special in her life and is planning to marry him. She asks them to come down so that she could discuss about the upcoming marriage. The family gets shocked and they rush to Debimongolpur. Partho (Abir Chatterjee) makes an entry then and it is he who plays an important role in creating this confusion. What happens next? Will Nandini marry her boyfriend?
“She is a living legend. To be able to sing in a film featuring her is a big achievement for me as a singer. I am grateful that I have been asked to sing in this film” said Ujjaini.
The music of the film has been composed by Dolon Mainak. After the music release event, the singers performed the songs live at the event and kept the audiences hooked.
The film is slated for release on the 18th of November.
Video: Jayati Chakraborty’s Album Folk Lok Released
In the august presence of eminent dignitaries like Anupam Roy, Lopamudra Mitra, Goutam Basu, Mahua Lahiri, Prattyush Bandopadhyay, the music album Folk Lok by singer Jayati Chakraborty was released.
This is the first folk album of Jayati Chakraborty and the singer was visibly excited at the release ceremony. Speaking at the occasion, she said “I feel privileged that Mahua Lahiri of Asha Audio has shown so much trust in me. I have done three Rabindrasangeet albums with them. But even without listening to my songs, she agreed to do this folk album. I am grateful to her for showing so much trust. Lopa di has always been my inspiration- in music or even at times in the way she dresses herself. I have disturbed her many times to get certain lines correct”.
Folk Lok is a combination of traditional folk songs with contemporary music. the six songs in the album ranges from Jhumur, Lalngeeti, Sufi, Bhaoyaiaa among a few. Lopamudra Mitra while speaking at the event said that the album will be a delight for the listeners of folk music.
Prattyush Bandopadhyay who has arranged the music said “The last folk album I did was with Lopamudra about nine or ten years ago. After a long break I have arranged the music of this folk album with Jayati. Hopefully the audience will like it”.
Brought out by Asha Audio, the album has been priced at Rs 125. The music album is available at leading music stores and also on the online platforms.
The music album launch of Matir Tane Rabir Gane took place at ICCR in the august presence of Indrani Sen, Chaiti Ghoshal, Chandan Roy Choudhury, Amrita Dey, Prem Gupta (Raga Music) and others.
When Tagore was in Silaidaha, he came in contact with people like Siraj Sai, Lalan Sai, Gagan Harkara and many others. They were singers and had a rustic element in their songs. Tagore was much influenced by them. He came to know about Kirtan and other folk songs of Bengal. It is after this that one finds the pastoral touch in the songs of Tagore.
The music album has Bengali modern songs by Amrita Dey while the folk song is by Tanmoy Biswas. The music album release ceremony also saw a dance recital Madhumadhuri being performed. This was choreographed by Manjusri Roy Chowdhury.
The album has been released by Raga Music and is available at all leading music outlets in the city.
