Renowned Kolkata Singers perform in Musical Concert to observe Safer Society Day


Bishwa Bandhan Foundation (India) for Cerebral Palsy observed Safer Society Day through a musical on the day of Abhishek Mitra’s 1st death anniversary at Nazrul Manch. Renowned singers like Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, Rupankar, Babul Supriyo, Jolly Mukherjee and Raya Bhattacharya graced the occasion while Satinath Mukherjee anchored the show.


The foundation is appealing to the citizens of every corner of the society to observe Safer Society Day on 26th June. Their sole aim is to save people who are medically suffering and losing their lives due to lack of medical awareness. They would like to promote medical awareness amongst people with support from medial fraternities and educate everyone about the mishaps which can happen to anyone for lack of medical knowledge or skill.


These efforts have been supported by different heads of states including the King and Queen of the Netherlands, President of India, Switzerland, Hungary, Heads of the Governments including Prime Minister of UK, Canada, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Governor and Chief Minister of West Bengal, eminent musicians like David Garrett, player, head of the organizations like Michel Platini, president of UEFA, Chairman of UBS and celebrities of different parts of the world.


Thus, through the activities, it is hoped that they will be able to save millions of children and stand by the side of cerebral palsy affected individuals across the globe.

Alka Yagnik’s three decades of musical journey “Sureeli Yaadein” to be celebrated by Asha Audio

Alka Yagnik Mesmerizing with melodies for the past 30 years

In the august presence of Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu and Mahua Lahiri (Director, Asha Audio Company), the announcement of the musical event Sureeli Yaadein was done. The event Sureeli Yaadein will mark thirty years of Alka Yagnik’s musical journey.


A special logo was also unveiled at the occasion by the three dignitaries to mark Asha Audio Company’s twenty years in the music industry.

Speaking at the occasion Alka Yagnik said “I have a strong Bengal connection as I was born and raised up here. It was later that we shifted to Mumbai. Left to myself I would not have celebrated my thirty years in the music industry. But Mahua persisted that we do such an event. Hence Kolkata is indeed the best place to celebrate my thirty years in the music industry. I wish to come and live in this city after some years for sure!!”.


Kumar Sanu who had sung many a song with the singer was also present at the occasion. “We have a great working relationship and we are great friends too. To be again sharing the stage with Alka is a great opportunity. Looking forward to it” said the singer.

Mahua Lahiri also made a special announcement that Asha Audio will also be celebrating Kumar Sanu’s silver jubilee in the music industry around November-December. Alka Yagnik even agreed to perform and also act as the host of this show.


Sureeli Yaadein will have ace singers like Abhijeet, Babul Supriyo and Jolly Mukherjee perform with Alka Yagnik.

Sureeli Yaadein will be held on 27th June at Nazrul Manch from 4pm onwards.

Standing with Nepal: A fund raising concert to aid in reconstruction of Nepal

Concert in Aid of Nepal Earthquake Victims

Standing with Nepal is a fund raising concert which will rebuild the destroyed village Bhaktapur, situated in the east corner of Kathmandu, 13kilometer away from the city capital. The press conference to announce the concert was held at International Club in the presence of Pandit Tanmoy Bose, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Indranil Sen, Maitrayee Ray (Hon. PRR of Nepal Tourism Board) and others.


Initiated by Committee on Kolkata for Nepal, FREED (NGO) and My Club, Standing with Nepal will feature eminent artists like Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Kavita Krishnamurti, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Ustad Rashid Khan, Babul Supriyo, Anushesh Anandil, Akriti Kakkar, Indranil Sen, Suha Khan, Violin Brothers, Pandit Tanmoy Bose performing at the concert.


Speaking at the occasion, Maitrayee Ray said “I know people in India are now scared to go to Nepal after the devastating earthquake. But let me tell you that not all places in Nepal have been destroyed or harmed. Nepal thrives on tourism and people visiting the country as tourists will help Nepal financially too. This initiative is a great one and I am glad Pandit Tanmoy Bose and the other dignitaries have thought of such a noble idea”.

On the day of the concert, the amount that will be collected will be handed over to Shri Chandra Kumar Ghimre, Consulate General of Nepal.


Pandit Tanmoy Bose who had once gone to Nepal during his school days became nostalgic on the occasion. He said “Nepal is such a beautiful country and the people are so warm and cordial. The tragedy that struck them is unfortunate and we must do our bit to help them out of the tragedy”.

Make sure you head to the concert not only to enjoy the music, but also to do your bit for the people of Nepal. Be Human!!

Singer Babul Supriyo Lends his voice to Bengali Audio Music Album Tumi Ami.com


In the august presence of Mainak Bumpy Nag Chowdhury, Dibyendu Mukherjee, Sibaji Paul, Sudipto Banerjee, Gaurab Chatterjee and many other musicians, the music album Tumi Ami.com was recently released.

The music of this album has been composed by Dr. Pritam Kundu, also known as Tuna in the music fraternity. He is a MBBS. Apart from the fact that he is a doctor, he is also a pianist and keyboard player. “This is my second album. The first album was titled Unique and was a completely instrumental album. For this album I am grateful to Babul Supriyo, Dibyendu Mukherjee and Indrajit Dey for taking out time from their busy schedule to sing songs. I hope to enter the Bengali film industry some day and compose music for Bengali films” said the composer.


The album consists of eight songs, out of which one is an instrumental track. Babul Supriyo, Indrajit Dey, Dibyendu Mukherjee, Somchanda Bhattacharya Deb are some of the singers who have lent their songs in the film. Dub step, Majhimollar, modern fusion and filmy are some of the styles of music used for the songs in this album.

The album has been released by Rooh Media Pvt Ltd and costs Rs 100.

Babul Supriyo’s New Audio Music album “Because I Love You” now in Music Stores


In the august presence of Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development, Housing, singer and minister Babul Supriyo’s new album “Because I Love You” was released.

Babul Suriyo has been making his presence felt in the singing fraternity since 2009. The name of the album that was then released is ‘Katobaro Bhebechhinu’ with music designed by Gautam Bose that had a contemporary touch so as to reach out to the younger audiences.


Speaking at the occasion Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu said “Babul Supriyo is a multi-talented individual. I call him Babul Babu keeping in sync with BangaliBabu. I wish him all the best and hope he continues with the good work in his musical as well as political career”.

Some of the songs included in this Rabindrasangeet Album include Amar bela je jay, Tumikonkanonerphool, O je mane namana, Amar praner pore, Ami keboliswapan, TumiKhushiThako and many more such soulful songs composed by the Bard.


Speaking at the occasion Babul Supriyo said “I have been singing the songs of Tagore since I was a kid. The love songs always have a universal feel and appeal. And to release this album of love songs on Valentine’s Day make it even more special. I personally like to sing romantic songs and I wish the audience will like the album”.

The music album is available at all the leading music outlets.
