India’s largest and most awarded radio network 93.5 Red FM launched their musical property titled Red Bandstand in Kolkata. The initiative has been started with the aim to provide a platform for all the independent musicians. This will enable them to showcase their talent through on-ground performances across major cities in the country. The places will be so chosen where the interaction with the masses will be the maximum.
Band OHM performed live in Kolkata’s first Red Bandstand event held near Jadavpur University. The event was organized in association with Prattay which is a social welfare organization. Rj Praveen hosted the show.
Nisha Narayanan, COO, 93.5 Red FM said “The independent music scenario in the country has gathered pace in the last couple of years and the consumption is no longer for a niche audience. Along with wholesome entertainment we also believe in the nurturing of talented musicians. This is the reason why this event has been undertaken by us”.
The event will be promoted on Red FM’s official page, Youtube channel and Twitter, with videos of their live performances created exclusively for these platforms. A new music video will also be created with the footages of the live performance too.
For this Red Bandstand event, Red FM has also partnered with Art Collide which is a portal which works for performing and visual arts to create innovative and immersive experiences. Prior to this event, Art Collide has delivered many collaborative performances and art shows with independent artists from across many cities in India.
With 93.5 Red FM coming forward for the promotion of independent musicians, the future of independent music in the country is indeed bright.
