Meet Bros Anjjan who enjoyed an undisputed position in the music charts for a very long time with their Baby doll song featuring Sunny Leone will now be composing music for a Bengali film and this is definitely their first time in the Bengali Film Industry. The film that they have composed music for is Koli and the music launch of this upcoming Bengali film took place at Hotel Hindustan international.
Meet Bros Anjjan who also regaled the audience present with the Baby Doll song, while speaking to Sholoana Bangaliana also said that getting an opportunity to work in the Bengali film industry is really overwhelming and the whole team will put in the best efforts to present just the best.
“Koli is about a simple village girl who loses her father at a very tender age.She lives with her mother. With the help of Shankar she gets over the financial crisis and continues with her education. Their relationship grows deeper. But societal circumstances pose threats to their relationship. What happens next is what the film is all about. This is like a next door story” said director Partha Chakraborty. The director also claimed that the love story will stay glued in the minds of the people for a long time.
Ruplekha who plays the role of Koli in the film was full of praises for her co-star Heerok and she admitted to playing pranks on her co-star during the shooting of the film.
Koli has a fusion of Tollywood and Bollywood. Surojit Chatterjee and Meet Bros Anjjan have composed the music for the film. There are four songs in the film which have been sung by Aryan Bhattacharya, Meghna Mitra, Shaan, Shreya,Palak Mucchal and Surojit Chatterjee. Rana Majumder and Surojit have written the lyrics for the songs in this film. Palak Mucchal will also be making her comeback as singer in Bengali films with Koli.
Surojit Chatterjee who has composed the music along with Meet Bros Anjjan said “The music in the film helps in carrying forward the love story. The songs are situational and have not been used just for the sake of it. They all have a role to play in the film”.
The film is slated for release on 14th September.
Mahurat of the upcoming Bengali film Jagaran took place at Aloke Pramanik Kutir at Nepalganje. Present at the occasion were director Kankan Bhattacharjee, Rajkamal, Meghna Halder and Rajatava Datta.
In a dhoti and Punjabi, with a thick black rimmed glass, actor Rajatava Datta will be seen in an extremely different avatar in the film. “I play the role of Chandrakanta Chatterjee who is the teacher of a village school. He is an idealist who believes in setting up a society which was thought of by the freedom fighters. However his daughter gets raped and what happens next is what the film will tell” said the actor.
“I play the role of Jyoti, who is a doctor by profession. This is the first time that I am playing the role of a doctor. The films I have done till now have given me scope for acting. This film will also provide me with a platform to act. This is my first film with Kankan da. I am also happy that I will be getting to share screen space with so many talented and veteran actors and actresses in the film” said actress Meghna Halder.
Bangladeshi actor Rajkamal plays the role of Subhash, who is a university student. He becomes a professional killer due to the pressures of politics. However he undergoes a change due to the village teacher. College Campus by Purnendu Halder is his first Bengali film, which will be releasing soon.
The music of the film is by Akash and there will be about five songs in the film. Soumitra Chatterjee as Surjakanta, Anup Chatterjee as Khude, Anuradha Roy, Rita Kairal, Tulika Basu, Biswajit Chakraborty, Master Baibhab, Arun Mukherjee will be seen in pivotal roles in the film. The film will be shot mainly in Kolkata. Some outdoor shoot will take place in Digha, Shantiniketan and Darjeeling.
The film will release by the end of this year.
Dev and Sayantika at the New Bangla Movie Bindaas Song ‘Party Shoes’ Launch in Kolkata
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 counts the huge crowd and Dev enters the South City Mall amidst much cheering from the huge gathering of his fans at the exclusive song launch “Party Shoes” from the upcoming Bengali film Bindaas.
The exclusive launch of the film’s song was graced with the presence of Tollywood Hero and MP from Bengal Dev, Tollywood actress Sayantika, Savvy and director Rajib. “Party Shoes- Bindaas hoe nacho re, Bindaas hoe bacho re” song has been sung by Shadaab Hashmi and Neha Kakkar. Dev and Sayantika performed to the song “Party shoes” and also interacted with the audience at the occasion of the song launch.
Speaking at the song launch occasion, Dev said “I am thankful that all of you came to make the occasion a huge success. I am also sorry that this song launch is causing problem for the shop owners in their business. Party Shoes will be a good song to which you will be able to dance with your friends. Sayantika has done a great job in the song and you will be able to watch her moves once the song is officially released”.
In a black sleeveless short dress, Sayantika raised the glam quotient considerably. The actress was of the opinion that this will be one of the biggest hit songs of the year and will be immensely popular among the people.
The story of the film Bindaas is about two villages Keshpur and Gorbeta. Dev has a double role in the film. One is a foreign returned boy while the other is a simple villager. The two villages are at loggerheads with each other and Dev’s character helps in ending the violence between the two villages. The film has a strong anti-violence theme.
The film releases on the auspicious occasion of Eid.
