The mehendi ceremony is in progress and a lot of women can be seen hovering over the bride, Lavanya. Even Muskaan, Ranbir’s daughter can be seen applying mehendi on her new mother’s hand. If you are wondering what this is all about, then this is a scene from the Star Jalsha Serial Mon Niye Kacha Kachi.
Mon Niye Kacha Kachi is a beautiful story revolving around the lives of three individuals namely- Lavanya, Ranbir and Muskaan. Lavanya is a dentist by profession and she showers love on all the children she meets. This is simply because she cannot conceive. Ranbir, Lavanya’s neighbor is a successful businessman whose wife Shree left him for her boss. This has made Ranbir cynical towards women and also very focused on becoming successful. Such is the level of focus that he has distanced himself from his only daughter Muskaan. Due to the turn of events, Lavanya and Ranbir get married to give Muskaan a better life.
Speaking with Sholoana Bangaliana correspondent, director Abira said “When we started the serial, not many people knew that it was adapted from the Hindi serial Yeh Hain Mohabbatein. But with the passing of time they have understood this fact. Some basic changes are there between the two serials. With this Punjabi-Bengali wedding, we are trying to showcase the changes happening in the wedding style in Bengal. Even non-Bengali rituals like Mehendi are observed in the Bengali marriages. This is a growing trend and we are just trying to focus on this with this marriage sequence”.
The stellar cast of this serial consists of Basabdatta Chatterjee (Lavanya), Tathagata Mukherjee (Ranbir), Rimjhim Mitra, Shreedhatri (Muskaan) and many others. Basabdatta Chatterjee, who plays the role of Lavanya said “I have acted in many marriage sequences in many serials. But this is different as this is a Bengali-Punjabi wedding and the set is also very grand. This is a new experience for me”.
The story and screenplay of this serial is by Paromita Majumdar and Paromita Basu. Produced by Shree Venkatesh Films, the music of this show has been composed by Indradeep Dasgupta. The lyrics are by Srijato while the title song has been sung by Shaan.
