The guest list was in itself an eclectic mix of talents ranging from cricketer to actor to singer and musicians, but what lend the old world charm was the zamindari setting completed with a hookah and giant chess board et al.
While actor-anchor Aparajita Ghosh laid anchor to the show, popular actor Sonalee Chaudhuri and women cricket’s fastest bowler Jhulan Goswami brought out stories lined with gems and pearls to engage the audience.
If this was the starter the main course was served by up-and-coming singer Madhura Bhattacharya who left the listeners in a trance with her voice and range. However it was music director, composer Gabu ( of Lakhichara Fame) and Avishek Basu (renowned fusion percussionist) who stole the show with their impromptu jugalbandi that left the audience mesmerised.
All in all a lovely evening on the banks of the Ganges that became the perfect setting for five days of Baisakhi Festival that will have a handicraft fair, Mishti festival and whole lot of fun filled activities culminating on April 15 on Bengali New Year.
