With International Womens Day just around the corner, ETV Bangla has taken the unique initiative of saluting women who recognize their duty and also take challenges to fulfill their dreams. A special episode will be shown on ETV Bangla’s show Shera Bouthan where women with indomitable spirit will be acknowledged. Stories of triumph over odds and issues like women empowerment will be highlighted.
At Shera Bouthan’s special episode six ordinary women with awe inspiring stories will be fighting against each other. Mental, physical and musical challenges will be presented to them.
As the saying goes “behind every successful man there is a woman”, but in this episode some of the eminent men will be thanking the women in their lives. Actor Sagnik will be seen thanking his daughter for being a support while actor Shaheb will thank his mother.
Eminent film and theatre personalities like, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Dev, Jeet, Sohom, Mir, Jisshu Sengupta, Kanchan, Abir Chatterjee and many more would be saluting the women in their lives.
Popular Bengali singers Lagnajita and Ujjaini will sing popular tracks and keep the audience mesmerized with their vocal abilities. Leading ladies from the channel’s various shows like Gauri Dan, Durga, Kojagori, Chitrangada, Satyabati will also perform for the audience and will add glamour to this event.

The launch of the new show Parar Shera Bouthan on ETV Bangla for the first time ever has taken the initiative of involving the Bouthans of the localities aka Paras to win attractive prizes. The show gives the bouthans the unique opportunity to fight for the title of Serar Sera in a grand event which will be premiering on the 10th of August from 7.30 to 9.30 pm on ETV Bangla.
Tollywood heartthrob Soham and singer Akriti Kakkar will be seen hosting this unique show. The finale will see Akriti belting out great numbers in Hindi and in Bengali as well as singer Surojit presenting some hit numbers that will make the audience dance. Adding to the entertainment and fun will be Kanchan Mullick’s comic act and the lungi dance he is to perform with Soham.
Parar Shera Bouthan began initially with 5 women, each of whom was representing a para leading to one “Parar Sera Bouthan” at the end of each episode. The 5 Parar Sera Bouthans of the Monday to Friday episodes fought against each other on Saturdays to win “Sera Parar Sera Bouthan”. The winners from the eight consecutive “Sera Parar Sera Bouthan” episodes came for the final face off for the “Serar Sera”.
The eight bouthans who participated were Swarnova Pal ( Sulekha), Chameli Das (Garia), Paoli Chakroborty ( Dhakuria), Arpita Mistri (Barasat), Priyanka Roy (Kankurgachi), Pinki Poddar (Ganguli Bagan), Nita Chakroborty ( Bangur), Krishna Pal ( Bagmari).
Swarnova Pal, from Sulekha proved her mettle through the series and was the most deserving candidate for the crown. She won the most number of rounds and ultimately grabbed the “Serar Sera” bouthan title. Paoli Chakroborty was the runner up. Other than being the coveted “Serar Sera”, Swarnova also took home a cash amount of Rs.1, 00,000, exciting gift hampers and a sum of Rs 20,000 from the rounds leading up to the finale.
