Enjoy Durga Puja the Traditional Way with Traditional Bengali Cuisine at Bombay Brasserie


Come Puja and the inner foodie comes to the forefront for most Bengalis!! You may be strictly maintaining the diet during 360 days of the year, but during the Pujas, you unleash the hidden Bangaliana and gorge on the delicacies on offer at the various hotels and restaurants. Bombay Brasserie at Quest Mall is one such food joint which has made up a Puja special menu just for such foodies.

Traditional Bengali fare is the highlight of the Puja menu made up by the food joint. This Puja menu will be available side by side with the regular menu. Both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian items have been kept in the Puja menu so as to cater to a broader customer base.


The non-vegetarian menu consists of delicacies like Kosha Mangsho, Murgi Gota Masala, Jeera Murgi, Papdar Jhaal, Betki Tak Jhal and Daab Chingri.

The vegetarian fare on offer includes Basanti Paneer, Bengali Aloo Dum, Kachkalar Kofta, Echoor Er Kalia, Dal Chechki, Sona Moong Dal, Misti Pulao and Luchi.

Chcolate Kurkuri, Amritsari Kulfa, Ras-e-Aam and Jalebi are the desserts on offer.

This delicious spread will be available for the Puja week starting from Panchami to Dadashi (18th Oct – 25th Oct 2015).


The lunch timing is from 12:00 noon to 3:45 pm and the dinner timing is from 7 pm to 11:30 pm. The food joint will remain open on all days during Pujas from 18th October, Panchami to 22nd October, Dashami. The pocket pinch for two will be Rs. 1500/- plus taxes.

Young and bubbling with life, Varsha Jain is a woman entrepreneur who opened her store named Ritik’s Cuisine Square recently to cater to the needs of the people for raw materials of bakery products at reasonable prices. Her store was recently inaugurated in the presence of some of the most popular city models.

Varsha Jain credited her parents, especially her mother for understanding that she had the potential to do something different. Her parents’ support had helped her immensely in the process. Speaking at the occasion Varsha said “From a very young age, I have been working with renowned chefs of reputed five and seven star hotels. I will be organizing workshops on various cuisines like Mughlai, Lebanese and Italian for the benefit of the customers too. I thought of starting this shop thinking on the lines of a customer. Not many people can afford to buy high priced baking products. Hence I thought of starting this store so that I can give the customers some of the best products at the most reasonable prices”.


Baking today, according to Varsha is no longer limited to only enjoyment and fun. People can also earn their pocket money from this profession. “The bakery industry is rapidly growing in the city and it is high time people learn the intricacies of baking so as to make the best products for sales purpose. This industry has a lot of scope in the city”.

With the ongoing festive season till Christmas and the New Year, Ritik’s Cuisine Square will be the perfect place to go to for getting the raw materials for the making of delicious bakery items for your own consumption or for sale.

Park Plaza K-19 Pujo Special Buffet Menu for this Festive Season


You may try out Continental, Mediterranean, Thai, Cantonese and the world cuisine during the full year. But come Pujas and the inner Bengali arises in many of us. To cater to the rise of this Bengali spirit during the four special days of the year, the all day dining restaurant K-19 at The Park Plaza will be serving the customers with authentic Bengali cuisines.

Speaking with Sholoana Bangaliana correspondent, Chef Sabyasachi Dasmahapatra said “We will be serving authentic Bengali dishes of Bangladesh and Kolkata to make the Puja special of the customers. Saptami, Astami, Nabami and Dashami are the days on which we will be giving such dishes to the customers. A separate buffet menu has been made for the customers especially for the puja days. The customers who want to eat other cuisine can opt for the regular dishes available at the restaurant. Sores pata bhetki, Chitol muitha, Dhone pata kachalonka murghi, Kochi pathar jhol, Kolkata style mutton biriyani are some of the delicacies available. Even we have tried to introduce soups with the typical Bengali flavor to it”.


Some of the soups made available for the customers include Tomato aar dhonepatar soup, Mugir Jholjhal, Anarosher soup and Dhonepata aar murgir soup. Kacha aamer sorbot has been kept as the welcome drink. Koshambari salad, Tomato kasundi die salad, Stuffed egg salad are some salad options kept in the Bengali buffet menu for the customers.


The lunch and dinner will cost Rs. 1111 all inclusive.

The timing for lunch is from 12.30 to 3.30 pm while the dinner timings are from 7pm to 11.30 pm.
