Video: DVD Launch of Bengali Film Har Har Byomkesh

Bengali film Har Har Byomkesh was the highest grossing film of 2015. Directed by Arindam Sil, the film had a stellar cast consisting of Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar, Ritwick Chakraborty, Nusrat Jahan, Rachael White, Adil Hussain, June Malia and others.


The home video of this hugely successful film was released in the august presence of director Arindam Sil, Bickram Ghosh, Abir Chatterjee, Nusrat Jahan, Sohini Sarkar, Ritwick Chakraborty and others.

Speaking at the occasion, Abir Chatterjee said “This is a great way to reach out to those people who did not get the chance to watch the film on the big screen. This will also enable those individuals who loved the film to keep a copy for watching the film at their leisure time”.


“This is indeed a great day for Arindam da. Today is his birthday and the home video is getting released on the same day. There are plans of the next Byomkesh already and I am glad I will be a part of the next film too” said actress Sohini Sarkar who played the role of Satyabati in the film.


Director Arindam Sil cut a cake at the event and celebrated his birthday with the crew and cast members of his film. “We started the shooting of Har Har Byomkesh on 19th August and will release the film during Christmas. The story we have selected is Amriter Mrityu. We will be shooting the film in Duars and Gorumara Forest. There are scenes of blast in the story and hence we are planning extensively on how we will be doing the shoots of such scenes” said the director.


Abir Chatterjee who will be again playing the role of Byomkesh added “I have already started concentrating on my fitness and I am trying to get even leaner. I won’t reveal much now at the moment”.

The price of the home video of Har Har Byomkesh is Rs 149.

Rajkahini DVD Launched; Do not Miss Watching the Original Bengali Film before watching its Remake in Hindi with Vidya Balan as Begum Jaan

Srijit Mukherji Film Rajkahini DVD Launch event

Srijit Mukherji’s critically acclaimed film Rajkahini’s DVD launch took place recently in the august presence of Srijit Mukherji, Parno Mitra, Koushik Sen, Indraadip Dasgupta and Ridhima Ghosh.


Speaking at the release of the DVD, Srijit Mukherji said “This is indeed good news for the audience who have not got the chance to watch the film on the big screen. They will be able to watch the film back at home. Whether they like the film or not is a completely different thing. But even for disliking the film, they will have to watch it”.


The film Rajkahini is about a brothel house which is situated on the border of India and Bangladesh. After the Partition of Bengal is announced, what happens to the brothel house and how the prostitutes react to this decision is what the film is all about.


Parno Mitra who played the role of Golaap in the film said “My mother will now watch the film finally. Due to her ill health she could not watch the film at the theatre. Now she will be able to watch it”.


Music director Indraadip Dasgupta who had grievances as there was no music release of the film said “I always believe in hard copies. Since there was no proper music launch of the film, this will be a good way to document the film and also the music”.

Srijit’s Hindi remake of Rajkahini will soon begin with Vidya Balan playing the role of Begum Jaan. The film is set in Punjab and has been titled Begum Jaan.

New Bengali Film Chotushkone is now on Home Video; Early Birds get 10% Discount on DVD purchase

Chotushkone Home Video Launched

The DVD launch of the one of the most engrossing films of Tollywood in 2014, Chatushkone was recently released at South City, Star Mark. The event was graced with the presence of Chiranjeet Chakraborty, Anupam Roy, Srijit Mukherjee, Lagnajita Chakraborty, Riddhi Sen and Koushik Sen.


Speaking at the occasion, director Srijit Mukherjee said “It feels great to get the appreciation for the work that you have done. Chatushkone was one of the game changers for the fate of Bengali films the previous year. And I am extremely glad that the entire team’s efforts have been so graciously acknowledged by the audience”.

The film Chotushkone is about four directors who plan to make a film on four different stories. They have an appointment with the producer on the outskirts of the city. They spend a night at a bungalow as their car breaks down on the way. It is then that they revisit the past and is held at gunpoint by nemesis.


Lagnajita Chakraborty who sang the immensely popular song Basanta Ese Geche in the film thanked music director Anupam Roy for actually finding her from the crowd and giving her a chance to showcase her skills.

Koushik Sen and Riddhi Sen who came to extend their support for the film were also full of praises for the film. Srijit Mukherjee also complimented Riddhi for his brilliant acting in the recently released film Open Tee Bioscope.

The DVD will be available at the Star Mark outlets and a ten percent discount will be offered to the customers.

Rituparna Sengupta Film ‘Biye Not Out’ DVD Available in Kolkata Stores


Starmark, one of the largest lifestyle and entertainment chain in the city played host to the DVD launch of the Bengali film Biye Not Out. The DVD launch event took place at the Starmark outlet in Quest Mall. Eminent Tollywood actress Rituparna Sengupta unveiled the DVD in the august presence of director Abhijit Guha and music director Neel Dutt.


Biye Not Out deals with marital issues that individuals face in their day to day lives. The issue has been dealt in a lighter tone in the film. The film is about Rina (Ritparna) who is a strict and disciplined woman. She is very punctual and is a stickler for all things right. She however falls in love with Nikhil (Tota Roy Chowdhury) who is a carefree and independent man. They get married and after a span of eight years they realize their inherent differences which even surpassed their love for each other. Rina finds the carefree nature of Nikhil as irresponsible while Nikhil finds Rina’s discipline as suffocating. Rina leaves the house with their daughter and decides to file a divorce. Meanwhile Rina’s old flame Anik (Indrajit) reappears and a love triangle starts.


“I am aware that many audiences have not been able to watch the film by going to the theatres. It will be indeed great for them as they will be able to watch the film at home with their friends and family members. The film is an entertaining one and will give the audience the right blend of mush and comedy” said actress Rituparna Sengupta.

Directed by director duo Abhijit Guha- Sudeshna Roy, this film will be a good watch for those who have not watched the film in the halls.
