Aakash Aath’s Mega Serial Run Rony Run Showcases the Ups and Downs of An Athletic

Video: Aakash Aath serial Run Rony Run

Directed by Arindam Basu, Aakash Aath’s new serial Run Rony Run is not the typical saas bahu sagas that the television audience has been watching for a long time. Run Rony Run is an athlete based mega serial.

The story of the serial Run Rony Run is about Sanjoy Sen who is a gold winning sprinter. He was expelled from the track after he failed a dope test and this led to his losing the job at the Railways. After fifteen years, he finds a ray of hope in 14 year old Rony alias Ronit Mondal. He sees her performance in the Sprinters Meet organized at the village. He is impressed and decides to make her a successful sprinter. Will he be successful? How will his wife Oly take this decision? Will she support him? The serial answers all these questions.

Speaking about his character, actor Priyam said “I had to lose weight to play the role of the athlete. This is good because I will then look apt for the role. Or else I will not be looking apt for the character that I portray on screen. We have early morning training by well known athletes who have been teaching us the body mannerisms of the athletes”.

The director added that family is an integral part of the story but this serial will be a hard core sports based serial. This will not ultimately tend to become a family drama like some other serials on other Bengali channels.

Run-Rony-Run

“It is a wonder that the athletes actually perform such well at international events. They hardly have any facilities. We all want them to win us medals but they hardly have any running track or proper facilities. We intend to make people think with this serial” said the director.

Shreyosree Roy (Ronita Mandal/Rony), Priyam (Sanjoy Sen), Mausumi Kar Chatterjee (Oli Sen), Anwesh Bhattacharya (Rishav Sen, Sanjoy’s son), Abanti Dutta (Champa Mandal Rony r maa), Amlan Majumdar (Bhuban Mandal Rony r baba), Namita Chakraborty, Bodhisatwa Majumdar (Paltu da, Coach of Sanjoy), Krishna Kishor Mukherjee (Malay Bhoumik, Galaxi member) will be seen in important roles in this serial.

Run-Rony-Run

The screenplay is by Balmiki Arnab and the music has been composed by Mithun Mallik. Satyaki Tarafdar has written the dialogues.

The serial will be aired from Monday to Saturday, 7.30 pm on Aakash Aath.

Interview: Actress Tanima Sen on Playing the Young at Heart Grandmom Ratnaboli in New Zee Bangla Serial Premer Phade

Tanima-Sen-Interview

Tanima Sen is an actress who has been mesmerizing the audiences with her roles in many serials. The actress will now be seen playing the role of Ratnaboli in the Zee Bangla serial Premer Phade. Check out what the feisty actress had to say about playing Ratnaboli….

Priyanka Dutta, Sholoana Bangaliana- You play the role of the grandmother Ratnaboli. Can you tell us something about the character?

Tanima Sen- Ratnaboli is not the typical grandmother whom you will see in the other serials. Despite her age, she is full of life. She is playing carom, at times she is busy taking selfies. She is an active soul who despite her leg pain goes on around the house like a youngster. She is the senior member of the family and yet she is so young at heart.

Montu, the servant of the house is also not spared by me. I scold him and ask him to play carom with me. I do this because I know if he plays with me, I will be able to cheat and win the game. Ratnaboli is a fun character.

How is your relation with your daughter-in-laws? Are you the typical mother-in-law whom we frequently see in the other daily soaps?

Tanima Sen- No, there is no resemblance at all. I have two daughter-in-laws namely Sreemoyee and Siuli. The elder daughter-in-law Sreemoyee is of a quiet nature. The other daughter-in-law is very quick with words. In one scene I tell Siuli that you sprained your ankle and yet you keep talking.

Zee-Bangla-serial-actress

So is Ratnaboli tech-savvy too?

Tanima Sen- Absolutely!! The moment a new thing comes in the house, she is the first person to pounce upon it and use it. When her grandsons or grand-daughters take her picture and upload them on a social networking site, they tell her that the picture will get likes from people. She later asks them how many men have liked the picture (laughs out loud).

A smart phone is presented to one of my grand children by their uncle. Many protest that why a smart phone need to be gifted to the person. But I am very happy. I ask them to teach me the functions so that I can operate and use them.

Does Ratnaboli have shades in the character?

Tanima Sen- She may look all fun but even she has shades. I did a scene where I scolded everyone and all became quiet. Ratnaboli is fun but she is respected by everyone in her family. She never goes overboard in any action that she does. She is restrained but funny.

Is Ratnaboli fashion conscious?

Tanima Sen- From the scenes I have done till now, it turns out that she is indeed very fashion conscious. She has cropped hair in contrast to her daughter-in-laws who have long hair and dress up traditionally. She keeps pace with the younger generation and also updates herself about makeup tips.

With this character of Ratnaboli, do you want to give a message to the audience?

Tanima Sen- The character of Ratnaboli receives respect from all the family members yet she is so cordial. The message that I want to give to the audience is that one should not treat their daughter-in-laws as their rivals. Instead they should be friendly with them. This is the change that I want to bring in the society with this character. I hear changes are happening but I have not seen any such changes in the people around me. The serial is made by Ravi Ojha Productions and will be aired on Zee Bangla. Hence this will be watched by a huge number of people. So spreading such good messages can be done with this character and bring about changes in society.

With this came the call for the next shot bringing our conversation to an end…

We sincerely hope that the character of Ratnaboli is able to bring about the change in the society that the actress hopes for!!

Interview: Actress Sauriti Banerjee Jha on playing Lilaboti in Nagleela Aired on Colors Bangla; Sholoana Bangaliana Exclusive

Lilaboti-Interview

After having done a couple of modeling assignments, actress Sauriti Banerjee Jha came into the limelight with her performance as Isha in the serial Thik Jeno Love Story. The actress is now portraying the role of Lilaboti in the serial Nagleela, shown on Colors Bangla. Sholoana Bangaliana correspondent caught up with the actress in between shots.

Priyanka Dutta, Sholoana Bangaliana- Tell us something about Lilaboti, the character you play in Nagleela.

Sauriti- I am a princess and I am the only daughter in my family. The way my parents have brought me up has made me very self reliant. I am a brave warrior who cannot be defeated even by the most talented male warriors in the kingdom. There is a conflict in my character as I turn into a snake (Nageen). I may take it as a negative trait or as a positive trait. To know that one will have to keep watching Nagleela.

How have you prepared yourself for this role of a Nageen? Your way of speaking and your style of walking are also quite different!!

Sauriti- True!! Workshops were conducted so as to help us out with these issues like how will we walk and how will we speak. That has helped and eased out a lot of issues. As far as my acting is concerned I have watched all the Nageen films acted by Sridevi. I am her fan and that has been a great guide for me.

So, what did you actually learn after watching Sridevi’s films?

Sauriti- (smiles) As a negative character, your eyes should do all the talking. I have watched her movies and have concentrated on the way she has used her eyes to emote. That is important. I am trying to learn from her and then improvise it in my own way.

Sauriti-Banerjee-Jha-Interview

What made you select this character after portraying Isha?

Sauriti- The positive character that I played before had no shades to explore. It was a very linear character. But when I was offered Lilaboti, I saw I had the chance to explore and prove my merit as an actress, which is important. That is why I selected this role.

Your costume is different. I guess it takes a lot of time to become Lilaboti?

Sauriti- You are absolutely correct!! It takes about two hours to become Lilaboti. However, despite the time it needs, I will add that the costume is extremely elegant. Getting in the costume gives me a princess like feeling (laughs). The tattoo is the most difficult thing. It takes a lot of time to dry. I have the maximum tattoo and hence getting it done is a painstaking job indeed. But still I am all excited!!

So do you have any plans of working in Bengali films next?

Sauriti- Right now, I am too busy with Nagleela. If I get a good script, I will surely think about it.

A number of serials are being made on these topics both in Hindi (serial Nageen) and Bengali television. Are you feeling any extra pressure?

Sauriti- Yes, there is a lot of pressure on me as the audiences have seen me in a positive character before. Now I am doing a negative character. Let me see whether I am able to break the ice. Moreover, there are a lot of serials being made on these topics. So it is important to see that my portrayal do not match with the ones done by the other actresses. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

We hope that Sauriti is successful in her attempts and achieves as much success as she got when she portrayed a positive character earlier!! Way to go girl!!
