Ivy Banerjee recently launched her two music albums based purely on classical music. The two albums are Rasiya and Raga Rendezvous. Pandit Subhen Chatterjee, Pandit Subhankar Banerjee, Mainak Bumpy Nag Chowdhury along with the artist Ivy Banerjee released the album at Innra Guest House. The music was released by Rooh Media Pvt Ltd.
Speaking at the occasion, Ivy Banerjee said “This is my first solo classical album. I received formal musical training under the tutelage of Nihar Ranjan Bandopadhyay. I have been learning music for the past eighteen years. The album Rasiya is based on Thumri and has three tracks in it. The other album Raga Rendezvous has two tracks on Kheyal. The classical albums however have been given a modern touch so as to cater to a wider audience base” said Ivy Banerjee. The artist has also performed solo in many parts of United States of America.
Ivy Banerjee has been accompanied on the tabla by Pinaki Chakaborty, harmonium by Debasish Adhikari and Sarengi by Kamalesh Mishra for the music albums. The master and mixing of the albums has been done by Kamlesh Mishra.
Pandit Subhen Chatterjee said “This is indeed a great initiative by Ivy Banerjee. Bringing out classical music albums with a modern touch is a good idea. This will enable the people to get in touch with the young audience and also propagate music among the people”.
Raga Rendezvous is priced at Rs. 120 while Rasiya is priced at Rs. 130.
