Director Sumit Das’s debut feature film Jijibisa is all set to hit the screens and the music launch of the same took place at a popular Kolkata Lounge Bar Soho in the presence of the Tollywood fraternity and cast and crew members of the movie. The day of the music launch was deliberately chosen as February 24 as the day also marked the one year completion of King’s Entertainment, the producers of the movie and the birthday of the owner of the production house Mr. Kingshuk Goon.
Jijibisa which means a desire to live has soulful music by singers like Raghab and the music has been composed by Sarod maestro Pandit. Debojyoti Bose. While Rabindra Sangeet definitely has an important role to play in the maintaining the flow of the movie, the highlight of this new Bengali Music Album is a Bengali Sufi Song in the voice of singer Raghav about which the entire team seemed quite excited and at the same time confident about good audience reception.
The movie, along with young actors Sayani Datta (of na Hanyate and Sada Kaalo Abcha Fame) and Joy Sengupta (of Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Ma fame) also stars thespian Soumitra Chatterjee who will be playing the role of Joy’s father in the movie and Tollywood actress Sreelekha Mitra along with others.
Sayani who looked gorgeous in a red bodycon dress exuded charm and elegance and seemed quite excited about the fact that at this very early stage of her career she had the good fortune of sharing screen space with actors like Sri. Chatterjee. Sayani who is playing the role of an NRI who has come to Kolkata in search of Bangaliana also said that she was quite comfortable doing the role as having spent the better part of her life in the U.K before coming back to Kolkata she had experienced almost similar emotions of holding on to the roots. Sayani was also all praises for the music of the movie and seemed quite excited about this innovative idea of using Sufi Music in a Bengali Movie. Sayani is currently working on Riingo’s new movie EK JE AACHE SOHOR and an English film and shall be back soon to woo her fans with yet another powerful performance.
The music launch was followed by a rocking party to mark the grand occasion of the music launch, the birthday as well as the production house’s anniversary which saw the who’s-who of Tollywood like Mr. Arijit Dutta (Dadul Da), Rudranil, Ananya-Chatterjee, Sreelekha Mitra, Partha Sarathi Joarder, Bickram Ghosh and such others grooving to the beats of YoYo Honey Singh.
As Jijibisa means the desire to live, we hope that Director Sumit Das with his very first venture as the sole captain of the ship is able to make a place for himself in the hearts of Bengali Cinema lovers and can live on forever in their minds as a film maker of great caliber. Here’s wishing the team the very best for this new venture!!
